I disagre. I dont think its like a beauty pageant at all. The whole of the performance matters. And the right look that is clothing, body language and great personality on stage can take a performance to a higher level. These things do matter when you are a performer. Imagine someone like Felix doing her dance in ugly or cheap slutty clothes looking grumpy or constipated but still moving the same doing the same great routine. It would just not be as good. There are so many things that count besides strength and variety of moves and ability to move on the pole. Its the whole experience. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I personally hate seeing girls that are good pole dancers in a performance or competition when they’re costumes don’t match the music at all, or they just wear the same stuff as they wear to practice and they don’t dance to the music and don’t smile or have any personality while performing or just have a blank face. I don’t care about those things at practise. But pole dancing is dancing and its an art at the same time it is a sport. Its not just a sport like weight lifting or bicycling. And therefore you want everything to match to make the performance more enjoyable and try to amaze the audience and give them a good theatrical and artistic experience while you show off your strength and grace. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I usually have good hand grip. But I have always stuggled with being able to get a good grip with my legs and sometimes other body parts because my skin is usually dry and its really frustrating. I like to use moisturiser about 1 or 2 hours before practice because that improves my grip and I tried Itac2 about 2 months ago. The first grip aid I tried ever and I am addicted! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif I put it on my legs, shins, calves, thighs and behind knees. Somtimes my hands, stomach and arms and armpits.

Hi. For those of you wondering about the valuation and the judging. I did get all information about that in an email from the competition because I was supposed to compete but couldnt make it becasue I didn’t have the money to go =/

I put the judging criteria on my blog if you are interested https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I just watched Jenynes video. OMG. That must have hurt. The jade fall was definately not supposed to end on the floor like this. And the fall in the end?! OUCH! :S Im just surprised how she managed to continue and you couldnt even see that she hurt herself. She must be really good at falling correctly :O

I found this super cute vintage pin up style bikini from skinny dip that I wore for my competition and it was also really comfortable.

I wanted to get some things from Bad Kitty but do they ship worldwide? :S

My studio had this guy make semi permanent poles for them that are permanent at the top of the poles. Not as good as the xpoles though but they work just fine and are cheaper.

Yeah. I saw that there are only 20 in the granted entrys so I thought maybe they would at least choose 5 more from the voting to compete. How ever I have dreamt to go to Tokyo for years. Seems like a really cool and one of a kind city. Will be costy for shure but IF I get in there I have a few people from the studio I practice at helping me to get sponsorships to get there https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I know the pole idol doesnt win the competition. But doesnt the pole Idol get to compete in tokyo and get sponsorship? Maybe Im stupid or something but I thats how I understood what it says on the webpage. But when my application got accepted I got an email from the competition that said We wish you good luck in the voting and hopefully your name will be in the top 25 finalist list. Doesnt that mean that 5 others then those in the granted category will compete?

Ohh and heres my video entry https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I learned on both static and spinny since I begun poling.
But the thing is my studio hasnt got xpoles and the spin isnt as great. It only spins like 2-3 times depending on how much momentum you use and then stops spinning.
Then recently I was competing and they had the same spin as the xpoles have. And it was so difficult to do some things on it. Sometimes the pole would just spin faster and faster and wouldnt stop and I couldnt move because I was going so fast.

Personally I wish I had been practising on that kind of spin from the very beginning. I wouldnt want to wait a year to start getting used to the spin when you could start earlier and have gotten used to it much faster.

But like I said. I started on spin when I was just beginning to pole but different type of poles seem to have different spinning. Like the xpole spin mode just goes on forever and even speeds up when the spinning mode on the poles that I use just stops spinning quickly.

I think telling them to not talked about it would confuse them and they would think the pole is a bad thing.

Agree. I think the best thing is not telling your kids not to tell. Besides.. Kids always feel that urge to tell people about things they arent allowed to tell anyone about https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

You should check out Veenas lesson for the teddy https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I had been struggling with the teddy for months until I watched the lesson and got it right away easy https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Try to climb up a little bit, get into a pole hold position. Then turn your body and get your butt in front of the pole. Onve you have your butt in front of the pole, bend your knees up, take your strong arm and grab your inner thigh. You should be gripping with your armpit, side of the torso and lower back. Last but not least grab your other inner thigh and extend your legs https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
