This happened to me. I was stuck at the same place with the splits and some days I would be worse for a few weeks and then finally I I got into the splits and sometimes I can get into a split and sometimes I can't.. I don't know why but maybe its just yout body getting used to the stretching. I guess patience and persistance is the key?

Ahh okay so this is the roxy. I thought that Karols varitation was the roxy. So turns out that what I was doing was a variation of Karols variation of the roxy. Hehe Sometimes its better to read the whole thread 😛

IS it even possible to do this spin on a static pole? All I can think is ouch! Hehe however I think this exit should be possible on static also as long as you can do the spin on static 😛

MemberFebruary 23, 2011 at 7:17 pm in reply to: Does there come a time when you HAVE to use grip aid?I use itac2 pretty much ALWAYS when I pole. I use stainless steel poles and its usually very dry and very often cold in the studio and I have dry skin most of the time. It happens very rarely that my skin gets into that perfect grippy condition so I need to use the grip most of the time.
I tried chrome poles recently and for the first time I could get a really good grip just after warming up.
So it might just be that my skin and stainless steel don't get along.
I don't think using grip aid is bad at all. I do belive that it is also good for your own safety to use grip aid especially when you are doing advanced moves and hanging upside down holding with your feet or other body parts.
Lots of people in other sports rely on grip all or most of the time. Why should it be bad to use it? If you cant do a move you probably cant do it using grip aid either. So I dont think that you can cheat by using grip aid.

I practice on a 38mm and don't have trouble with gripping with my feet so you should be fine 🙂
Personally I just ordered a 50mm because I want to be able to pole on any size poles without trouble. So being used to dance on both the thickest and skinniest seems like a great idea to me at least 😛

Please nooooooo don't put it into the olympics. I want pole dance, not pole sport. What I love about pole dance is the expression, the sensuality, the artistic side of it.
Pole sport is just something that I have no interest in it and I think that "pole sport" being made and accepted to the olympics will ruin what most of us love so much about pole dancing. It will probably make people look even more down on Pole Dancing. =/
So yeahh. Please please please stop trying to get pole to the olympics and trying to "clean it up" 🙁

Is a square split with the knee facing the floor because thats the way I have been getting into it? And what is a jazz split?

I usually do strength training as a warm up for about 20 minutes before each pole session.

Ooo here is my current favorite combo wich includes the cupid. 🙂
I begin in a split grip to apprentice to butterfly to cupid, then I go to shooting star except let go with both hands of the pole then into marley then dismount into a pole sit. 🙂

Doing a freestyle dance really gets me sweating, my heart pumping and I end up huffing and puffing. Try a fast or energetic song and just dance your ass off. 🙂
