I started on a 50mm and a year later got a 45mm, which I love. I didn’t find it hard on my legs at all and found CAR’s etc fine. I’m around 5ft 5 with smallish hands and love the 45mm for the grip, I just feel more confident attempting moves with the smaller pole. I would love to try the 40mm for comparison,it must be great for spinning!!

sorry, something went wrong there..  I was going to add I have quite meaty thighs at the top so I have more to grip with.  Chrome is a bit tricky in Autumn and winter for me in the UK , I have to warm up the pole and me thoroughly and add heat to the room or I'll spend 30 mins just sliding down, but overall I love my pole, I think TG  might be a good choice  choice, I

I totally agree with Chem, you are never too old.  I got a pole 3 years ago when I was 46 and taught myself at home as there were no classes here.  I love my pole it keeps me happy and sane and I can practice whenever I feel like it.  My girls, 8 and 15 think it's great that I can do handstands and inverts etc .  Go ahead and get a pole  you won't regret it !!

I would go with the 45mm.  I started with the 50mm 3 years ago and after a year got a 45mm.  I find grip so much easier especially for spins my fingers used to ache with the 50mm and I had no trouble adjusting with thigh grips.  I'm about 5ft 5 with slightly smaller than average hands.

Hi, my hips are the same as yours 38 1/2 sometimes I manage to lose an inch, my Mila (les) are size M/L and they fit well washed and worn tons and still good.
I don’t have any shorts to compare these with, but I do have 2 pairs of bad kitty Brazil bottoms in medium, the Mila Elias give more coverage,I love both. Shipping from Mila yoga wear was really quick and cheap Band they were helpful when I sent a question to them. Sorry for my spelling Tec I’m on my kindle and it doesn’t like me !! 🙁

I started with a 50mm 3 years ago, but after a year got a 45mm, it was much easier for grip and I didn,t really notice too much difference with the leg grips, I'm 5ft 5 with small but not tiny hands, I would def say go with 45mm.

Love Tara's videos, I saw the new ones come up on my Youtube account and was sooo excited that Tara was back, her videos were an inspiration to me too to start poleing  when I wondered if maybe I was too old at 46, that was 3 years ago so glad I found them such a graceful and beautiful dancer!!
