I've been poling for 2 years now and have been able to start teaching even, but I have noticed a lack of progress and it has me feeling so down! I felt so good when I learn something, but now that I am at a standstill I wonder if I have hit a plateau and will not get any better… Questions… What to do to ensure progress? -
Mine's Trixie. dunno why. Just fit.

Absolutely. It's all in the physics of the pole. When you are on the spinning pole you can slow the spin down by extending something- and arm, a leg… anything. The further out from the pole you are the slower you will spin. If you wanna go faster you pull yourself in closer to the pole.
Remember when you were a kid on a tire swing or regular swing and you spin the rope around in one direction and let go so you start spinning in the other? When you put your legs under you, you'd go faster, but if you kick them out you spin slower. It has to do with making your surface area larger so that the force of friction on you by the air is more- making you slower.
But enough about the physics. All you need to know is that you can speed up and slow down any spin by remembering that law- the further out you are, the slower you go. To speed it up, bring it in.

The Carmen Electra Pole has a way to screw the top into the ceiling- so as long as you can get the stud and screw it in it'll be stable enough. It's good for practicing static moves like inverted V and handstands and things like that. Even spins!- IF it is screwed into something firm. If it's not screwed in, the pressure easily can slide out.
The other main issue I had with this pole was that it has an adjustable top part which screws out to reach the cieling height. This adjustable part often loosens up while I'm on the pole and it's pretty obnoxious to have to push it back down.
If she's serious about a pole- CE is NOT what I'd go for, but if she's a beginner and just wants somethin she can put up and swing around for party guests or husband It'll work.
And yea. Totally saw that jersey shore episode… I think it was some guy that Snookie brought home tho. Either way soooo funny.

That sounds like it! Thanks hun! I'll def give that a try and let you know how it goes.

Awesome.
But I would not let her do preformances until she's legal age. most pole studios won't let girls under 18 take a class without signed permission… soooo why now? Unless pole becomes an olympic sport it has that stigma.

I'd like to learn some drops to be honest. Or doubles pole stuff.
