I'm 49 and started pole in feb of this year. Things hurt and I'm not as gutsy as some of the younger girls but the inspiration I get from SV, its members and my instructor Yve are awesome.
Have your bad day, as we all do, then just tell yourself you can be the best that you can be, put a smile on your face and go gal xx

Hi ya
Not to sure about classes but Taylors Retreat in Dorking is a Barn set up with Poles 'Spin and Static' you pay 5.00 and can just go and train. There is a music system avaible, toilets and kitchen area. Just call and check that there are no events on before you go. Have been myself and it is a great place.
Enjoy your time over here

I forget the breathing bit as well!!
I watch all you fantastic polers and think will that ever be me?? I know at 50 that I have my restrictions but I have never enjoyed any sport or dance as much as this in my life.

I have this problem, it doesn't matter whether I diet to a size 8 or put on weight to become dress size 12. I have tried every diet under the sun and have at some points in my life been extremely fit, running long distances of 40 miles. In a last attempt I went to see a plastic surgeon who after an indepth consultation informed me that I had NO FAT to remove but just loose skin from my 2 pregnancies. So my option is a £6,000 operation !! Hope you have more success.
