Sheila Kelly’s book has a list of names you could pick from and I’m sure you can find some suggestion lists online too. Is there an animal or book character you relate to? Maybe you can use your hair color as inspiration (my sister is a red head and she’s Ruby). Or you can just pick a name you really like without having any other reason for it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I have a canon powershot SD1100, it’s a great little camera and the video quality is great! I recommend it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Can’t wait to see your vids!

    Hey!
I took an Irish dance class in college ( don’t remember a whole lot though!), this will be fun! I think Irish music is so fun and lovely!

I have to admit I’m very curious about it and would love to do an amateur night, just once… but I couldn’t get naked in front of strangers, I could only go as far as underwear and I’m kind of prudish so I’d have to feel like the people watching me are enjoying the art and beauty of it not thinking about banging me…on second thought, clubs are probably not the place for me https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif But I do see the appeal https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

To any ladies who are letting their weight concerns stop you from taking up or continuing pole dancing, I encourage you to check out CURVYDVA on youtube. She is is curvy, confident, and amazing! I love watching her videos because I just think she is fantastic and so in touch with her body. Here is a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=So1WHNoXwoI

I will post a couple of instructional stretching videos I made a while back on here, maybe they will help. It is REALLY important that you be very warm when you stretch! Be gentle but firm with your body https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I have a standard warm-up that I always follow, the same one I do when I teach. I never skip this! It’s too important! I start with a floor warm-up sequence that warms up the abs, the arms, and the legs, then I get on the pole and do some more total body warm-up, some pull ups, and stretch the arms. My actual dance practice usually start with a series of spins, alternating sides, until I feel warm or can’t think of any more variations! Then I do climbs, followed by inversions. By this time I’m really warm so I put on a song I like and just improvise for the full length of the song, trying to include spins, climbs, inversions, and floorwork. I do this for a few different songs and then at this point I stop dancing and just start working on one move at a time that I have decided to conquer for this practice. The best time to stretch is usually at this point in time but I skip out sometimes…
