For those of you who wanted to know what Allegra danced to, the first song is "System" by Chester Bennington of Linkin Park from the Queen of the Damned soundtrack. The second song was "Control" by Puddle of Mudd.
Jenyne danced to "Breaking Away" by Chandiss, check her out at http://www.chandiss.com
I will post a video of my piece soon, I promise, and I will post a blog about the weekend shortly!
Thank you all for the support, it was an amazing show and I am proud to have been a part of it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
Congratulation to Alethea, Karol, and Estee on their titles, they were fantastic!

three words: ROTATOR CUFF EXERCISES.
They are a must. Good spotting technique and mats are good to have for more advanced classes where you can’t watch everyone at once.

That is absolutely not true. I feel comfortable doing EVERY trick, no matter the level of difficulty, on the X pole. It’s totally stable.

Much love to you and your family in this difficult time https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

The fact that there is no single, accepted naming convention for pole vocabulary is one of the biggest hurdles facing pole as a "legitimate" sport. Jenyne Butterfly is working on a pole repertoire and figuring out the names that are most commonly used to describe the moves. You can check it out at http://www.polemovement.com/
In the meantime, we all have to try to name things in the way that seems most appropriate and logical to us. Veena and I use the same names for the majority of the moves we teach because we’ve discussed the fact that descriptive names are more appropriate and logical than other (ie: inverted thigh hold versus "the Tammy").

Pam is co-owner of Poletential and has been an event planner for years. Poletential knows how to throw a party so I’m really excited that we are sponsering the after-party! For anyone who was dissapointed with the East and West coast after-parties (no offense to the ladies who put those on), you will not be dissapointed this time around!!!
Here is a link to the USPDF announcement:

Wow! Beautiful! I’m in the market for a costume (for USPDF) so this is really helpful! Thanks! I should just pay you to make me one! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Empyrean is right, no spins if you use this stuff, you will quite literally be glued to the pole. Only works if your pole is on spin mode or you aren’t planning on doing spins. Here is the video of karol dancing in her jeans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er_S3yPBXn4

Butterfly Balm is not on the market yet and I have no idea when it will be. The video of Karol dancing in jeans was with gorilla grip I believe but you should check with her.

Hey Amy,
I have taken her sexy flexy workshop and there is NO pole work in it. It focuses on stretching and floor moves only. I believe that you can change your workshop selection with the USPDF though, you can cancel that one and transfer your purchased workshop to a different one (Sophie did this) so it isn’t too late to do another workshop if you don’t want to do the floorwork https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

you can soften the plastic with a hairdryer so that they are easier to get into and I always start out by wearing socks in my plastic shoes so that they stretch out. I got both of those tips from Karol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
