You will definitly know tomorow if you’ve pulled a muscle. Sometimes you can’t tell at the time because you’re warm enough that your body will endure it, but if you did pull it, it will hurt tomorow and you won’t be able to stretch it without pain. However, the re-adjustement feeling may have been just that: your tendon readjusting in its groove, so don’t freak out yet!

very funny! and sooooo true! I remember going through the teenage years and being convinced that I was ugly and being overly critical of every part of my body, I even drew a picture of myself pointing out all the things I didn’t like (like the video)! Thank goodness I grew out of that self-conscious phase to realize I may not be perfect, but I’m good enough!!

If it isn’t your obliques, it could be your lats? Not sure what you’re doing wrong without being able to watch you invert. It could be that you just strained that muscle but haven’t given it the time off to fully heal so it keeps coming back? Hope it feels better!

For all the ladies who are getting pain in their upper back between the shoulder blades, you are most likely straining your rhomboids. They are a smaller muscle group but are critical in proper scapular motion. Try doing some rows to strengthen them or at least warm them up nicely before trying to invert. Having a pinch there DOES indicate you aren’t quite strong enough to invert or you’re not wuite warmed up.

I agree with what everyone here has said. If you want to lose weight for your health and for yourself, then by all means go for it, but you will eventually be able to invert regardless of your weight. I am 5’10” and weigh 156lbs so I’m not light either! But with enough strength training you will get there https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Besides, strength training is a weightloss tip in and of itself!

PS: the "Am I Ready to Invert?" thread is under the Pole Moves folder and should be on the first page.

I’ll be in chat as soon as I can on monday but won’t be able to be there at 2pm. I’ll have a moment of silence in her memory on my own time. *sigh* https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif
