One more thing… I have two permanently mounted PS poles and they are both warped. I never notice it when I'm on the poles, but if you stand back and watch them spin you can totally see it! PS may want to look into this…

I feel the video is honest and fair. I have both xpoles and PS poles in my studio and neither are perfect! I love the side-by-side comparison. My only experience with a free standing pole is the SSA. I have the "first generation" and am not happy with it at all ~ And from the looks of it, the new one is just as wobbly. Also, on the older version, the "pie" pieces don't pop up like they do on the new one (if you put the two piece collar on). I've had good customer service with both companies.
As far as stage poles go, I wish I would have went with xpole. I like to take my pole on the road to promote my studio, but I'm too embarassed to bring my SSA because it's sooooo unstable.

Great demo! Thanks for posting it!

Never used an R-Pole, but I do use a 38mm pole at home and I really like it!

Orchild ~ Thank you for your feedback. As i stated in my original post, I have invited my studioveena.com friends to add their link to my site for free. The fee is only for local businesses, and only if they choose to list their business on the site. I'm not web savvy enough to know what "backlinks" are https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif or how they are valuable, and do not care about "rankings". The site is for information pertaining to local networking events, and will feature articles written by other business professionals. The site does not sell anything or generate any income whatsoever. I didn't think $12 annually was too much to ask for, as I looked into joining a networking organization that charges nearly $300 per year!
I was hoping that by having my studio veena friends list their businesses for free, it would lend some credibility to this newly formed organization and encourage other local business to join.
One more thing… About 3 years ago I was scouring the internet for all things pole related and I happened upon a pole studio website…. Can't recall the site…. But I clicked on their "Links" page and found a little link for studioveena.com and I clicked on it….https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I think you should stick with brass ~ I have PS ss in my studio and have no grip at all on them unless they are super warm. I am very happy with the poles themselves ~ They are one piece ss permanantly mounted static/spin ~ Just wish i could stick to them!

Seriously…. Enough with the "certifications" already!!!!! As a group ex instructor (a certified one at that :), I am so SICK and tired of all the various certs out there ~ One could easily spend a small fortune just on certifications!!! Mostly, these "certifications" are just regurgitated info. and I for one am tired of paying for them. So you get use their logo, big deal!
Sensualscimitar is EXACTLY right ~ Anyone with a dance background could come up with their own program and it would probably be MUCH better than anything else out there!
I do own the Urban Strip Tease videos and they are "ok" at best ~ Nothing spectacular about them. I will say that I rather enjoyed the "Booty Call" dvd though!
@chemgoddess1 ~ Nope, not any different that Carmen Electra or FG in my opinion!
Some of the BEST teachers/instructors I've ever had were not certified. I learned pole, chair and lap dance from a stripper (not certified), my dad was my personal trainer (not certified)… and the list goes on.
Ok ~ I'm done venting now

@litlbit ~ I updated my waiver to include a confidentiality agreement (thanks AlphaKitten!). Since I'm VERY non-confrontational, I will let the new waiver speak for itself. I also live in a small community, but I'm not from here, so it has taken some time to build up a clientele. Now that I have a solid following, I want to keep it so I'm probably a little over-protective of my business!
So – I did a little "investigating" and found out this gal is actually a friend of a friend! Our mutual friend told me she is a very kind and good-hearted person and probably had no idea of what she was doing when she came in saying she wanted to learn our choreo.
She is in fact new to Zumba and the fitness industry as a whole. Knowing this, I have come full circle in my thinking and feel she just didn't know any better.
When she signs the new waiver tonight, I will have the chance to get to know her first hand.
Who knows…. Maybe she'll want to work for me instead
He-he!!!!
Thanks a million everyone for helping me with this!!!!

Feather boas make a big mess!! A mans shirt and/or tie would be a great idea!

@Yoga ~ Thanks! Yes ~ Zumba does send out choreography dvd's every month. We have found them to be rather boring, although they have stepped it up a little in recent months. Anyone can buy Zumba dvd's from an infomercial and do them in the privacy of their own home ~ Which is why we feel its important to come up with original choreo and song lists. And it works! People love our Zumba! We utilize all the same latin based moves you would expect to find in a Zumba class. We've just added our own style
She showed up again last night and I didn't have the nerve to say anything to her!!! I can't tell if she's being malicious or just doesn't know any better??? I don't know her personally, but my gut tells me she was sent over (by the gym) to see what our classes are like. This would not be the first time the gym has done this, which is why I'm losing sleep over the whole thing.
@Rune ~ If I ever get the nerve to talk to her, I will use the "praise sandwich"! Thanks!!!
