Thanks Veena! I was kind of thinking along the lines of a 45 TG, but having no experience with those (only ever played with 50 and 45 chrome, stainless and a 38 brass) I wasn't sure.
It is a tough debate for pole size. The local studios don't have one size they all agree on, but I think 45 is becoming more common.
Are Platinum Stages the only folks that have brass right now?
So many options!

I only sold it cause my new ceilings were too short by an inch…stupid ceilings. But I only had it for a year or so, but the ones in the studio I worked at have a couple and they're holding up just fine.

Yeah that's what I mentally meant. Learning it off center makes it easier to do the more advanced thing later (I agree I'm not keen to call it The Violator). Thanks for that!

Def try shifting more weight to the top hand. In a lot of the bobbi's vids, they are always doing what look like one handed wrist sit, but without the bottom hand so I donno what they call it then.
I was told to ensure that I sorta twisted and got the pole to one side so it was along the spot where the crease is between your butt and leg (at least if you have a big-ol butt like mine). I was told to practice from a plank. Then sort of rotate to one side and sorta tuck to move the pole there, and then lean back while lifting the legs up and open. It's a weird feeling but it seemed to help a lot of folks in class.

I agree with tiggertail. I love being able to watch everyone's videos, even those I'm not friends with because it is a great way to get ideas about new combos, different ways to get into things, and encourage them and yourself that all the hard work is paying off or maybe by watching how one particular person does a move it suddenly clicks in your mind how it is done. I would hate to lose that oppertunity because I don't friend a lot of people on here.
Granted some of the videos are a bit more risque and for that some might like to make it for friends alone. I would miss being able to see them, since that is a portion of pole I have a hard time with, but I understand how some would feel safer.
I think Webmaster does a great job of deleting those that obviously are not polers and investigating those who aren't here for poling. But honestly those looking for free porn prob leave this site pretty quick since there is no free porn here and there are plently of places to find free porn and free porn-esque chat rooms.
Besides, if they're anything like my BF, he'd seen soo much pole now that he can't even think of it in terms of stripping, porn or sex cause it's just exercise now. I try and show him a pole vid now (even super sexy ones) and he goes running for the hills. Poor boy.
It can be creepy to think about but this is the world wide web and nothing you put on here is 100% safe, no matter how many privacy settings you stick on it. It can be found. Not to scare anyone away from posting, but that is just how it is. You accept that risk any time you put anything about yourself on the web.

CrossFit is one of those things some people love and others don't. My main concern with CrossFit is the fact that the majority of studios would rather have speed and high reps than good form, which to someone like me who is very technical is no good. If you have the ability to ensure you are only pushing yourself as far as good form will allow you and not sacrafice that in order to keep up, then it can be great at getting a whole body workout in a very short time. However, if you throw form out the window in order to be more competitive in the workout, then you will prob find yourself injured (unless you are extremely lucky).
I've tried it and have decided it is not for me, but I have several friends that are CrossFit die hards. When it doubt, try it a few times and then make up your mind. Everyone is different.

I had a powder coated lil mynx. I didn't find it too sticky for spins on static and it switched to rotator mode pretty easy. If I hadn't moved to a place with way ceilings 2 inches shorter than what I could make my pole do then I prob would still have it (I replaced it with an xpole with is good too. Sometimes slippery but norm due to weather).

Berlei here in Australia is quite popular for the well endowed ladies I know. Not sure if they sell elsewhere, but they are quite good from what I hear (I work in retail so I hear quite often).
Triumph is also supposed to have good sports bras. Don't personally know anyone who uses them, but they have a good reputation.

oh yeah and faster actually hurts less for me because the skin just get shoved by the pole so quick it can't really grip to hurt it.

I know what you mean. I got so used to demoing spins in pants for some lessons that when I would switch back to shorts it was like "oh yeah, gotta loosen up a bit." So that is what you need to do. Fireman: keep the pole near the ankles and rely mostly on arms. Front and back hook: loosen up that death grip with your knee pit. Not tons but enough that you don't get stuck. Play aroudn with it and you'll get used to it.

while you're there you should totally get a lesson with Jamilla. She is an amazing instructor and you'll get a lot out of it.

make the level even easier, get one that is magnetic and just stick it to the pole. Super easy to get the pole level

Welcome!
My cousins used to live in Kent. It is a bit of a drive from both Seattle or Tacoma. If you want to do workshops, occasionally Divine Movement in Seattle often has some really good ones. You've got to be on thier mailing list though cause they aren't advertized too much.
