This is a great discussion! I most appreciate seeing creative expression through dance balanced both on and around the pole. I do want to speak up for those of us who are not very advanced and yet still put a lot of heart and soul into our dance–I find I cannot smoothly perform several aerial combinations without coming down to the floor in between…with more strength that will come.
I also want to say that music choice for me is HUGE as so much feeling is found there as well. -
We had such a wonderful time!!! Thank you SO much Charley! Love meeting so many Veeners and cheering on all the fantastic performances–my face hurt from smiling so much! 🙂

I had a sample a few months ago, but it almost seemed dried out in the plastic cup?? It went on sorta "chunky" and left little bits all over my pole…so I'm not sure I really applied it right. It was grippy for sure, but really messy. SO many people seem to love it, so I keep feeling like I should give it another go.

Hi MissKitty! I too own a 50, but am planning on ordering a 45mm soon. I have had my 50 for about a year, mostly pole at home. I know personally I am SO much stronger on the 45mm…the leg grip will take some getting used to for me. Will you be taking classes in a studio with 50mm poles or will you mostly be on your "home" pole? I have a studio not too far away that has all 45's there. Maybe you should see if there is somewhere you could try out a 45 and see if it "feels" right? Good luck!

I am still working on this as I'd like to start being able to invert from the thigh rest and it IS a hard one to do with control and be able to open both legs. I can do it OK, but it isn't pretty. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

I gave up on the chopper awhile ago (put it in my "save for later" list LOL) as I had trouble with it as well. When you say negatives, do you mean going into it already inverted and then coming down?
Great job!

I've been sllloooowwwllly working on this one as well and am just starting to be able to take my leg off the pole and get the feel of the position in forearm grip as Veena suggested. Another thing that has helped me with the feel of the legs is doing it in a handstand, maybe that might help?

No kidding! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif Now I’ll have another reason to cross the river, other than my Trader Joe’s addictions. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Hi and welcome! I have been poling for a bit over a year, I am in Hudson. A SV member, Kittyclimber, is opening a home studio in Amery, WI. It would be a bit closer, but still a drive for you. Maybe you can come to a future pole jam or something? Welcome either way! I understand how you feel!

One night my friends and I went into a dive bar that had Karaoke. We were requesting songs and everyone was using diff. drink names on the request cards…it came to me and I picked Fuzzy Navel. I haven’t had a Fuzzy Navel since my 21st birthday, BUT it makes me smile. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
