There have been tv interviews and the instructors have said it’s gymnastics with the bar at a different orientation but still people are not listening. Personally, I find it infuriating that these people have jumped on this bandwagon saying it’s inappropriate when there are things that could be said about other sports but are not, these people are just trying to get airtime, it’s ridiculous and unfair!

Hey I’m the same I’ve been trying to get it for ages, I think it’s just a case of practicing it over and over and then your body just does it, I keep getting closer the more I do it soil thinking that may be the way to go 🙂

Do itac have a website? I finally got back on the pole yesterday after being injured for the last 3 months my strength was all there still but my pole is mega slippy so I’m struggling trying to get fully back into it without sliding off 🙁

ARGH my x pole did this I had taken it down for a check over and the one x joint falls through unless it’s reeeeaaaallllly tight and now it rotates one way but not the other then it stopped rotating completely and is now not lined up, I told x pole what happened and they sent me a new x joint IN THE WORNG SIZE! So so so annoyed!

Hey I have a chrome x pole too and I went from 8 foot ceiling to 12 foot and it cost a further £100 to extend it because you can’t use the dome at that height so I’m looking into a one peice pole purely for safety because the poles really flex when you start doing tricks one after another, hope this helps 🙂

It’s really upsetting and for weeks just thinking about it would make my burst into tears but you’ve just got to do your physio and it will improve, I haven’t been on a pole since the middle of may and my brand new Kurt Geiger poling shoes are still in their box unworn 🙁 point is you really have to persevere with it, just think sports people get injured and can be out for a year or so and they always bounce back we polers have to do the same! Hope you get better soon and just look forward to getting back into it because it’ll spur you on to get better x

Hey I have an 11 foot xpert pole and they told me I needed the permanent mount for it to be secure 🙂

For inverting at the top of the pole the first thing I learned was how to dead lift. Essentially you have to go into the invert hand grip while in your pole sit then drop your legs and just hold on with your arms then lift your legs while they’re hanging into the invert position. You need to be STRONG to do it from way up the pole because you’ll use a bit of energy getting up their so I’d practise while hovering above the floor first, hope this helps I don’t have any videos to link you too I’m afraid, good luck though! 🙂

MemberMay 22, 2011 at 5:53 am in reply to: Let the bruises heal some, or keep on poling?Hey in response to climbing bruises, I started poling a year ago and used to get the foot top bruise too, the best thing (recommended by my instructor) is to tape up your feet with bondage tape, no joke, it’s got no adhesive so doesn’t transfer any to the pole and provides grip and protection and it’s loads cheaper than ankle protectors 🙂

Hey if anyone has an iPad or an iPhone there’s an app called pocket pole studio, its really good it’s got a loads of moves in picture and video format plus some Felix cane stuff too like spins and tricks 🙂

They were quite blasé about which it was they just said “a ligament” ive pulled/torn the ones on the ouside of my ankle and simultaneously compressed the ones on the inside so I’m getting pain off both! It’s so frustrating I only just got a new pole set up in my new flat which is near on 12 feet up and I’m not allowed to go near it or I will end up trying to have a little play! Thank you so much for the advice sometimes it helps to hear it off someone who is in the pole community because they know what they’re talking about knowing how demanding our sport is!

Mines had to go through the plaster board, which is about 2 inches thick, I’ve been on the pole since and no problems has anyone else had to do this?

I just got an x pole permanent mount (finally) but it doesn't come with screws does anyone have one? If so what screws did they use?
Also I need opinions I live in an apartment that has a dropped section of the ceiling that looks like a beam as it runs across the middle of the whole length of the apartment and its about a foot wide. I've knocked on it and it doesn't sound hollow, so is it possible that the whole thing is solid? Its a fairly old building so made of strong stuff haha

I fall off quite a bit, usually when it’s something new, such as a little bit too much momentum during a spinning pole superman…. Kind of flew across the studio 🙂
