Hanka here 😆 I am really happy you will come to see me and I wish I could also help you out on Saturday too…. However there are good studios in Amsterdam. ..I would also recommend rasa lila or pole dance factory in Amsterdam. In Utrecht you will find studio aeris, in Enschede there is studio Nienke and in Arnhem there is studio suus. Does that help?

Hi, Netherlands replying here…of course we have polestudio's in Amsterdam! I would recommend http://www.rasa-lila.nl/website/ They just opened a new nice studio and their program is yoga-based and very "zen". Another good one would be http://www.sportiefpaaldansen.nl/ They have a nice studio at the Waterlooplein (also famous for shopping) They do teach 2h classes, always mixed level. Remember that the Netherland is a supersmall country….the trains will take you everywhere…Alkmaar is only 30 minutes…you are also welcome in my hometown Nijmegen (90 minutes by train). Let me know if you have any questions!

i'm from the Netherlands….if you are visiting Amsterdam I can recomment http://www.rasa-lila.nl …it's the best studio in Amsterdam based on yoga-roots…

Hi and welcome to the poleworld…I'm not from Belgium, but from the Netherlands..which for most of the US people can be considered as almost the same country 😉
As far as I know poledance in Belgium is not that big yet… you have Sarahcademy in Brussels (www.sarahcademy.be), paaldans.be in Turnhout and Antwerpen, and PoleGym (http://polegym.be/) in oa Brugge… of course you could also travel to the Netherlands…there are some studio's close to the border…

I seriously find this move easier to do on the pole than on the floor. Use a crashmat and don't go to high at your first attempt. It is important to have your lower foot on the pole and you try to push it on the pole instead of downwards. When you straighten your arms and lean away from the pole it becomes even easier to push that foot on the pole.

Here another former gymnast. And I agree…you should never forget the basics. You will learn very fast, but doiing the basics first will help you and make you understand the more difficult moves.

Everything said about practice is true…but there is one little trick that might help too…
Don’t look at your pole while spinning on it. Your brain will be confused because the pole looks like static and everything else is moving. Instead, focus on a static object in the room so your brain knows that you are the one that is moving.
Just try it..it might help…
