    yippee!!!!!!!!!!

Just booked the intermediate/advanced class with Dan. Looks awesome I'm super excited!

Debss: I'd love to do both but just can't afford it…. but the adv class AND the pole jam will probably be more than enough to get me nice and bruised for awhile! looking forward to meeting you all 😀

Hmm Becky – could you please repost the link for booking dan's workshop?  i've been trying and trying and either it's died on me or my stupid computer has decided to stop working! thanks sorry for the hassle!! i can't seem to get on it at all.

Definitely agree with Kelly – we can find ourselves working harder, but not necessarily smarter, when trying to learn new stuff on the pole. I have struggled with moves in the past for weeks and really worked hard every day or so but it doesn't let your muscles recover… I think we all underestimate just how much time they need to repair themselves after a big workout. The best pole sessions I've had, with the best new/improved moves, are when I've had about 5 days to a week away from the pole and am fully recovered! In that time I can still dance but don't do any strength building tricks. Give yourself a proper break and you'll eventually get them all!!!!!

don't be discouraged – I find that my personal "Pole journey" dips and peaks regularly! I usually pole two or three times a week… but this last two weeks or so I haven't felt motivated to do ANY exercise, and was super busy with work as well, and even though I knew pole would make me feel better for some reason I just couldn't get myself to do it… and then suddenly last night I had this weird urge to jump back on and it was amazing!! THe two weeks off hadn't changed anything and I enjoyed it so much more after the break. Sometimes you have to let yourself rest for awhile and then you'll enjoy it more when you get back to it.

I'm from Australia, from Brisbane (been in the UK 5 years now) and miss it everyday! You'll have a ball. It's incredibly expensive these days so I would say go wherever you can find a job… although Southport may seem amazing, there's hundreds of amazing beach towns on the coastline and if you don't have a particular reason to be in one place (like friends/job/amazing pole studio lol) I would travel around and see which grabs your fancy 🙂

I find that I can't do it AT ALL without low rise shorts (or incredibly skimpy knickers!) and I have a really strong armpit and bicep grip usually.

To increase the tailbone point of contact, when you swing your body around the pole (so your hips are in front) really try to pull your knees up and curl your back against the pole (as if you have tummy cramp, defintiely the opposite of arching) and push back with your tailbone as hard as you can! When that grip is there you'll really feel much more secure and then the armpit grip doesn't hurt me at all 🙂

Well I'm in the UK where birth control is 100% free so I didn't have to worry about the cash aspect of it! But I'm on my third implanon and LOVE IT. I got my first when I was 19 and have never had any problems, I have had a years break in between numbers 1 and 2 when I went on the pill but I felt the implanon was easier and less worry for me.

When I got my first I had spotting for 6 weeks but since then it's been amazing. I get occasional light periods – like, 3 days of panty-liner-worth, not even worth buying tampons…I get these about 4 times a year. I think they correlate with stress or going abroad/changes in diet/sleep/etc though because they aren't every regular 4 months – I have gone 9 months easily without ANYTHING before!

I don't get any mood swings, or breakouts, or weight gain. Obviously everyone is different and I have advised friends to get Implanon, only for them to hate it and have it out again 3 months later! But personally it's been amazing. It's on my right arm and I tend to invert on my left side so it's fine – but honestly, I think as long as you let it settle in properly (don't pole for a week or so after it's in and the bruising is gone) it will be fine with all pole moves. Maybe yogini, if the pole is pressing RIGHT on the implanon rod, would be bad but other than that I can't think of anything.

    Good luck deciding!!!

DEFINITELY the story of O! The original BDSM novel! 😀

If you're into the psychology/theory/real life examples of BDSM, look for Ilona Paris's books. She's a sexual therapist and used to be a dominatrix as well, and she writes a range of stuff from "beginners guides" to scientific papers. not quite novels but their super easy to read and some of the stuff in her guides is pretty erotic (not to mention gives you good ideas) 😉

I would say maybe noon or 1pm on the sunday? i have never done a pole jam so whatever you think is a good length of time i guess!

The 17/18th is in my diary for now…… maybe wait until we're sure everyone can make that weekend and then book it in?!

    this is an AWESOME idea!!!!!!!!

I'm in Leeds and so heading to Manchester/Hull would be easy for me. I will ask at my old studio here – they have 4 poles which are pretty high but they're all static. I have two Xperts (chrome 50 and brass 45) so an alternative is finding a separate, new space…. I'd be happy to bring them both along 🙂

    November would be great!
