Yep – happened to me with the chopper. Had it fairly solidly, no problem, then just couldn’t do it for weeks, then it came back. Weird, but yes, totally normal.

Belated happy birthday….I understand a little how you feel – I find my birthday quite depressing too. Hope you are feeling better now that the day is behind you. I had a really hard time with turning 50 – I was depressed for several months before it, and it took me about 4 months afterwards to come to terms with it 🙁

I ended up having to get my rings cut off 🙁 I wouldn’t recommend this….it was a long tedious and painful process. I haven’t got around to getting them resized – I just stopped wearing them!

I think Pleaser does clear straps that you can use ….or maybe if you can find clear elastic (rubbrr) bands?

I got the clear plastic ones for my first pair – Pleaser Kiss 208 6″ heel I think. They lasted quite a while, got a bit scuffed and stretched. Put some half insoles in which helped. I recently got Pleaser OTK black boots 3050 I think. Only worn them a few times and they are scuffed up but not badly.

OMG I love this thread – thank you. I did my first performance just over a week ago – as in, in front of paying members of the public! Didn’t go as well as I would’ve liked (I had grip problems – but then again so did several of the other girls) but I have discovered, much to my surprise, that I absolutely loved it and can’t wait to do it again! I am trying out a few different grip aids, and am determined to do better next time 🙂

Zoraya does squats as part of her war. Up for workshops 🙂

I found that the stud finder I used wasn’t terribly accurate too! I used a combination of that plus tapping a knuckle on the ceiling – until I realised that the ducts for the air conditioning would be between the joists, so I used that to assist me as well 😉 light fittings should be positioned where there are joists too, if that helps. I think joists are generally about 12 to 13 inches apart.

I am the same – couldn’t go more than 3 rungs up a ladder. But now climb to the top of a pole no problem 🙂 and handstands – facing the pole freaks me out, back to the pole no problem 😉

Unfortunately I am in Australia so phoning them may be tricky 🙁 My order is for an Espiral brand item, rather than shoes

The pole studio I go to sometimes has men’s workshops. Yes, in general, men may be stronger, but they lack flexibility.
