I think Pilates might help, too….I started doing Pilates a few months ago.  It works all the small muscles, and may help with flexibility.  I always feel really good after a Pilates session. Opinions, anyone?

For those of you who are on f/book, there is a group on there that does the same kind of thing…..can't remember what it's called ATM but I'm sure some of you will know it.

Now that I know my correct size, I buy most of my bras online. Panache is. UK brand I think. I’ve got a few from Ebay as well as online shops in the UK. Not sure where you can get them in the States. Maybe just try google. Try Figleaves or Bravissimo for the sports bra.

Don’t know if you’re wearing shoes fir your performance but I’ve just seen some Leg Avenue spiderweb printed ones (clear with black web) which would be perfect 🙂 They are pretty heavy though 🙁

Not a sports bra, but I love Panache Cleo Jude bra – moulded cup, comes in pretty colours (new ones every few months) as well as nude, holds everything in. I have a whole collection! I’ve also got the Panache sports bra but it feels a bit like a granny bra on me 🙁 Also have the Freya one but I don’t find it particularly flattering. For reference, I wear 32G.

Another thought – if one of you comes on wearing a jacket, the other one could remove it for her 😉

Could you maybe start out dressed as "Peter Parker" and then "strip off" (!) to a spiderman-themed costume – maybe some kind of spiderweb stockings or arm warmers, or a fishnet (or larger net) top with maybe red or black shorts with a spider motif on? Maybe for the Peter Parker bit you could wear a "suit type" jacket? (I will have to google him and see what he wears when he's not spiderman!) You could just walk on wearing the jacket, do a few walks,  bottom-sticking-out poses/moves etc. Maybe you might find inspiration from some of Bobbi's pole studio vids on You Tube? At one of the "end of term" performances at Bobbi's one of the girl had on a fishnet type long sleeved top, which was actually a pair of panty-hose that she'd cut a hole for her head where the crotch part was – looked really cool, you never would've guessed they were pantyhose!

I think I read somewhere that skim milk powder is a good – and cheap!- source of whey protein isolate. Anyone else heard this?

Love this thread 🙂 Thanks for starting this, SaskiaM. I love your comment:   It took me so many years to finally say F-it I'm going to pole! that now I just can't contain my excitement. :-)"    I am exactly the same!  Love your enthusiasm, too – pole dancing is very addictive 😉

Korinne – I see you have already suggested cleothehurricane – you beat me to it – she has some awesome stuff.  I was lucky enough to do a workshop with her recently.  I bought her "Rock n Pole" T – I love it!

April 23, 2013 at 2:36 am in reply to: Tips for Chair Dance Class…

I haven't done a "chair dance class" where the entire time (apart from warm up) is devoted to chair work, but I've done classes which include chair work, but is mostly "dance based aerobics" using the pole as well.  We just used the chair for a few moves including a sexy walk around the chair. What about incorporating some floor work.  I think perhaps a whole routine is a bit much….maybe do a few chair moves, some floor work, wall work, sexy walks, crawls etc to break it up a bit. Can you look on You Tube for ideas perhaps? Hope this helps.

Well done!  It took me a while to grasp the "mechanics" of how to climb, but now I find it so satisfying to be able to climb to the top of the pole at the studio 🙂
