polergirl i 100% agree. Stripping is what started this beautiful art / fitness form of expression. At 18 years old i honestly thought the only i vould pole dance would be by going to a club. i wanted to pole dance and knew nothing of the fitness side of pole dancing. When i found the fitness side of pole dancing it was 2 months after i started going to the park and playing with the pole there lol. i love and embrace the sexy side of pole and stripping is what brought me to pole fitness. pole fitness showed me that i dont have to bare my body to dance how i want to and do what i enjoy.

I took me almost 2 months to be able to do a pole hold, and 6 months to invert, 8 months to learn how to properly invert. (I teach myself using YouTube and the PDC free syllabus.) I didn’t do any type of cross training though at the beginning. Although, i did stretch and do 10 push ups a day. Im starting the cross training now a whole year and a few months later. It really depends on your body, how active you are, and how much your body can handle. As someone else in this thread has said, i noticed a handful of women on here who use weights, maybe that will help you? Possibly, strengthening your grip some more might help as well?
Hope that helped and happy polin 🙂

I agree with grayeyes, as that is the tactic i personally employ for completing my workout routine. I try to do it when i can. I, too, Ann a full time college student, however i don’t work currently. I pole maybe twice a week. I stretch for an hour maybe two to three times per week, I jog and run treadmill once or twice per week, I just try to mainly fit it in when possible. Friday’s are my me days, I don’t have class, so i pole for two hours, stretch for one hour, strength training for 40 minutes, have a little spa day afterwards. I don’t plan on doing a competition or anything soon. I plan on graduating and maintaining my fitness for the time, maybe teaching on the side when i graduate.

I have heard of a few people using them, i think they are a bit of an older brand, not really sure. I don’t see why not, just make sure your hands can fit the diameter. Happy poling:)
