I’m with you, sistah!! I’m turning 47 this summer, and I feel even more sexy and confident than I did in my 20s and early 30s. Pole is a big part of my workout and its become more than that- its become my dance partner and its become my mirror to myself. My body is indeed changing and have people coming up to me with such wonderful compliments about my body. Keep it up pole sistah. May our Creator keep you healthy and blessed.

Pole dance is part of my journey in to self. It challenges me and helps me to realize tangibly and intangibly that I am beyond my imagination! I’ve become stronger, more motivated to condition to be able to reach my daily, weekly monthly yearly and life time goal- this is to create of me more than I was yesterday. This is done by creating me in the present moment. POLE DANCE ROCKS MY WORLD!!!

I appreciate your opinions and tips. I have tried 45 and 40mm at my class. It seems like my grip is stronger and I can hold poses longer and better. When I stand with my legs together, my thighs barely touch near my crotch if that’s what you mean. I’ve trimmed down a bit since practicing pole and other exercises and a healthier diet. Any way. I will do a class and really test the difference between 45 and 40. Pole is quite an investment. I don’t plan on buying till I sell the one I have now.

Oh yes, I’m noticing my entire upper body looks a little more cut, I feel stronger and my booty is looking more perky and it’s gotten more trim. I love pole fitness!!!!

I have inner thighs and bicep and back of my feet bruising now…I know there’s more to come….but in a weird way. I am loving it! Their like my love bites! It’s showing that I’m progressing. I yet have my knee pit, arm pit, torso to bruise up 🙂 thank god it’s cold here now in Canada- I can cover up a little more. I’m going to rub oil of oregano with some coconut oil or olive oil mixed in: oil of oregano gets blood flow and warms your skin. It’s a spicy oil…it’s actually something I take too keep me from getting colds or flu. And it also shortens the amount of time your sick with the symptoms. I swear by the stuff. I sing for a living and I cannot afford to get sick. Oil of oregano rocks. Look it up online for its many benefits. It’s really spicy though. Some may want to dilute it with juice and take it quickly.
I’m off topic now…thought I’d put something useful in to keep the polers rockin on their poles. Happy Holidays everyone! -
We have so many wise women in our community. Great insights everyone. I believe that being CONNECTED to mySELF aligns me with my desires be it being alone or with a partner. I am with an amazing life partner, and at the same time, I enjoy my alone time. When one is connected to Self…that is always being present in the moment, your more clear about your desires, everything you do is also more authentic and this is including DANCING :). I’m a professional singer, and when I am connected with Self, I’m connected with my audience! It’s an amazing feeling. Have an amazing day everyONE!

On spin, I noticed that if you are strong enough to hold poses. It is easier to do so and looks more fluid. Your tips are so good ladies. Thank you! I am going to start practicing on spinny too. I will master inverts first on static. That makes sense 🙂

U rock, Saphyre! I do like the feeling of the spinny pole, but it takes practice (like everything else!), and getting the hang of the feel…(gotta love the pun, lol!) I will check out the link.
Thanks! -
All your replies have been so helpful thank you! Some of us learned the hard way…in this case I did. I do have an instructor, she missed warning me about what could happen if one kicks too much when first attempting inverts. Now I know, and its so much easier for me now to do basic inversion. I still feel my left rib slightly. It’s going away slowly but surely. I am all for conditioning for pole and being safe…I hope this will help a lot of beginners :). Thank you ladies!
