Paulette – thanks for asking and Veena – thanks for posting. I really needed help with this move. Thanks!

Just added my week one pics. Yikes! Long way to go . . . https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif Glad so many are participating. Should help me with the motivation!

I’m very interested. Started the year with good intentions and…..yeah. I could use a little motivation.

@chumpchin – I think it was just discussed. No official post other than Veena mentioning she would be busy moving and might not be able to post it right away. I’m with you on the challenges, by the way. I like to do them in that month but creativity and song choice and timing aren’t always my friends 🙂 I like your challenge idea. I should try booty work or going left. That might end in a blooper reel. Lol!

I believe April 2012 was going to be dance to an instrumental piece.?

It’s a long song but I’ve always wanted to try “Lay Your Hands on Me” by Bon Jovi. Lots of sexy floorwork potential in that one!

This is definitely going around lately! Chem posted some great links. There are some good ideas in those discussions, and there’s always tons of support for you here. Dance it out, and like Lyme said, post a video for feedback. I’m not able to make it to Friday chat or do Skype jams, but many here are, and most find it very supportive and helpful. Good luck!

I have had times where tricks disappeared and I felt weaker trying to learn new ones. I agree with @Rose‘s advice. Watch a tutorial here or on YT. Sometimes we forget or maybe never learned the subtle points that make a trick easier. Or, just dance. I did that during my last slump and now I do it all the time. It makes me so happy :)) and more accepting of who I am and what I HAVE accomplished vs. what I am struggling with. It’s good to feel good….when you go back to tricks, they come around much easier.

During my last slump I worked on dance and I’ve been very happy with the results. I didn’t even bother changing clothes. Just went to my pole room fully clothed, put my music on shuffle and danced to whatever came on, sometimes for hours. Also, I’ve posted here for combo and trick ideas when I’m stuck and bored. Lots of great ideas here!

Yes. Plateaus, dancing, and stretching. Also found this site a little too late, after I suffered an injury. However, I doubt anyone would have been able to slow me down and encourage me to develop the strength I needed before attempting certain tricks. This sport is too addicting!

Welcome! Everyone has felt like this and most of us continue to feel like this throughout our pole dancing journey. It is a challenging and strenuous sport. When I first started, my bruises limited my pole time to once a week. One year later, I still bruise, but not as badly and I’m able to practice more. The beauty of this sport is there is so much to try that we will never run out of tricks and challenges! We can work on stretching and flexibility a few days a week or spend time on dancing and floorwork when our bodies need a break from the pole. Enjoy your journey. You’re gonna love it here!

Oooh….I like that sparrow. I started to try that yesterday and freaked myself out. I definitely need a crash mat.

Thanks ladies. I sooooo hate wasting my time staring at my pole wondering what to try next. And, boy do I feel stupid for not thinking of Scorpio switches. I remember wanting them a long time ago. How did I ever forget about them??? I like the pix idea too. And, body waves and booty work…yum! I think I’ll check you tube for some fun ways to get out of Superman. My standard move for that is jump off the pole and grab my tender ladies parts and cry….lol! There’s gotta be a better move than that out there. Thanks again! I think I have enough to keep me busy 🙂

Gorgeous. After you name it, post a tutorial 🙂
