    Dear Payton, please take your trash talk and adolescent name-calling somewhere else. Thanks. Sincerely, HotelChick

    I own a bar (Hotel Bar and Grill). The bar has always been known as the Hotel because it was first opened as a hotel during prohibition 90+ years ago. It is one of the oldest operating businesses in my community with a rich history – one of my favorites is that it has always been operated by women. I have an all-female staff and we refer to ourselves as the Hotel Chicks. I can’t think of another nickname for me so that’s the one I used here.
    Recently I’ve been contemplating changing my name here because business has been difficult and I just don’t know what will happen with it. However, I am a Hotel Chick and can’t imagine a time I won’t be one. I’m part of an amazing history, even if my part consists of struggle. So, Jenny is my name, but, HotelChick is my identity.

    I heard Billy Idol’s “Rebel Yell” yesterday and thought that would be a fun fast song. The lyric, “she cried more, more, more” just makes me dance like a maniac…lol! And, it’s kind of appropriate considering none of us can get enough of our pole 🙂

    @polefitmom – we must have posted at the same time. Sorry.
    My “I disagree” was in response to the original post.

    I disagree. There are countless threads on this site where members ask for recommendations on what pole to buy, and everyone offers up their opinion. I’ve seen forums where Veena shares what brand she uses and I’ve also read threads where she has mentioned other manufacturers. Furthermore, one popular brand offers a discount to SV members. If this site were truly biased towards one brand, they wouldn’t allow another manufacturer to advertise or participate in the forums here.

    I’m proud of everything I’ve accomplished since beginning pole dancing in March. Every big trick or tiny dance move is an accomplishment for me, as my goals when I started dancing were to increase my strength and move with grace. My journey is slower than some, but I’m proud that I’ve stuck with it so long and that I make time to dance each week despite my rediculous work schedule. And I know I will continue to dance because my pole goals are endless. Maybe sticking with it is my greatest accomplishment? My greatest joy, which I rank higher on any list, is the support and friendship of the community I’ve found in the studio and right here on SV. I haven’t the words to express what you all mean to me, but, this community has changed me and impacted my life in immeasurable ways.
    Thank you 🙂

    Thank you Veena for the vibes and Studio409 for the moral support. Hugs to you both! The anxiety I’ve felt for the last year has been replaced by gratitude. I’m so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my corner 🙂

    Thank you @Paulette for the advice and @tiggertail for sharing your family experience. I’m so glad I posted about this here where everyone is so supportive. I’ve struggled with making a decision for quite a while. I think I needed to make a public acknowledgment of my fears and my reality, and this was a safe place to start. I’ve tried for quite some time to handle this on my own. Hadn’t even shared the whole truth with my husband.
    I contacted a realtor and listed my business yesterday. Discussing the situation with him, with my bank, and friends and staff, as well as the feedback received here, has helped immensely. I know I’m not a failure and I have no reason to be ashamed. It’s going to be a long and difficult process, but, I’m no longer in it alone. My business has operated in my small community for 91 years. We hope to find someone in the local community who knows the history of our business and values it as much as we do…someone with an emotional attachment and the cash flow to weather the economic storm. I will take a loss but I know I did not fail. I made several updates to the property and I now feel that may have been my role in the history of the business. Rather than looking at myself as the one who failed, I’m looking at myself as the one who made it easier for someone else to succeed. My bank has agreed to help with cash flow until the time of sale, as it is imperative that we sell a “going concern”. Thanks to the community here for giving me the courage to share my burden and take the steps to move forward. I cannot tell you all how much I value the support and advice you’ve given.

    Go for it! Poling for an audience is AMAZING! I went to visit a friend at the club where she works. She pulled me up on stage for the last song of the night. I was fully clothed so all I could do was a few spins and some floor work but the crowd was amazing and I danced better than I ever have just feeding off their applause. It was an amazing rush. If my husband supported it and I didn’t already work 60+ hours a week at my own business, I would definitely dance one night a week in a club.

    @PoleSkivvies-
    I’m interested in the aerial hoop lessons and rigging. Do you know if there’s anything available for that yet?
    Side Note: I love your products and site! I’m a student of your gorgeous model Dawn Marie 🙂
