I would get a flip video camera. I was originally using a JVC Everio but, had some difficulties uploading. The flip is so much easier.

Wow, never seen anything like it. Plus all the noise from the pole would have me going crazy.

I have a stainless steel Lil Mynx rotator pole. It was very slick and slippery at first but, after continuous use it now provides the grip I need. When I attended the studio I learned on a black powder coated Lil Mynx. I love my pole and it doesn’t give me any trouble. When I first installed it there was a problem because, I didn’t have it in a ceiling joist. After successfully finding a ceiling joist and installing the pole I never had a problem with it moving. It is very comfortable and you must make sure that when you put it up adjust the inner pole to the correct length so there is no movement in the pole.

So have fun on the Lil Mynx!

    2 questions:
What product are you uploading to with the intention of editing? Initially I tried PowerProducer but, that didn’t work. So I went withAVS4U which I found online.
Is it a hard drive camera or do you have tapes? I have a hard drive camera.

Everyone will tell you I have a complete hatred of WMM. It’s not a good product.
My suggestion is to blow some bandwidth and download the trial version of Sony Vegas.
This may allow you to use more formats.

If you’re using iMovie, there shouldn’t be a problem.

Sometimes you have to play with the formats etc when capturing footage from a Hard drive camera.
Tape capture is usually pretty easy.

What I also suggest is to view the video and make notes of which shots you love the most, which ones look the best and note down the timecode for them. (This is called tape logging)
Then when you come to edit, you have the bits you really want to use already noted.

Thanks so much as your post was very helpful. I put this on my things to do list and will definitely give it a shot.

    Hugs ,

Crazy part is it uploaded but, only let me show 1min and 15seconds of video. I’ll get the hang of this soon enough.
I just want to pull my hair out as my video is approx. five minutes long and I’m mad about it. Darn it!!!!!

    Foxy,

Thanks so much for your reply. It came up as file unsupported so I had to convert the file for my video. It looks like its working but, I think I’m going to purchase some software so that converting the files will be easier.

Hopefully, this upload works this time.

    Thanks!
