    @Kobajo84

I love the OP boy shorts from Walmart! I have 4 pairs now. I think they are very comfy and don't move too much while poling.

    @jayjay

I totally repeat the mantra “I am a non smoker!!” in my head when I feel a craving. I need a new habit for when I drive since it seems to be a big trigger for me. I’ve been chewing gum, singing along with the radio, and gulping water like a maniac after a pole workout 🙂

On a side note, whenever I’m doing abs my mantra is “I. WANT. Abs! Abs! ABS!”.

Thanks for the support and kind words Veena.

Thank goodness for pole dancing, otherwise I wouldn't have even thought about quitting. Poling inspires me to be healthier and want to push my body. Day 5 hasn't been too bad, so hopefully day 6 goes through without a hitch!

I'm currently also on a fast food free diet, (2 weeks! Fries are my weakness!), and doing a 7 day cleanse. I'm also drinking 2-3 glasses of Stop Smoking tea, and drinking 1-2 oz glasses of Green Food Juice by Bolthouse.

Crossing my fingers that I can keep my willpower strong!

Here are my tricks and tips!

Home pedicures are a MUST. Invest in:

    1) pedicure file ($3 looks like a ruler, or a contoured ruler

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/Foot-File/SBS-177423,default,pd.html?cgid=Nail04-03)

    2) abrasive pads (they come in a pack, $10)

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/D-Files-Foot-File-System/SBS-129167,default,pd.html?cgid=Nail04-03

3)Also buy some Callus Remover (this one is awesome! $13)

    http://www.sallybeauty.com/Callus-Eliminator/SBS-299500,default,pd.html?green=22352667498&cm_vc=MYBUYS

    4) Nail file

    5) Coarse buffer for nails

Follow these simple steps, and you will have gorgeous feet after just a few home pedis!

Step one, fill tub with warm soapy water and enjoy a relaxing bath, OR fill tub partway and sit on the edge for 10 min.

Step two, use some sort of a scrub and scrub feet after soaking at least 10 min, (I love the Bath and Body works aromatherapy scrubs.) You can make your own at home with either coarse salt, or sugar, mixed with olive oil. You can add herbs like basil, rosemary, lavender, etc.

Step 3, dry feet off a little bit, and apply callus remover, (try not to get it on your hands cause it will dry them out), and then leave them out of the water for 3-5 minutes.

Step 4, Rinse off callus remover, dry foot very well, scrub with foot file. Dried skin will probably be peeling off if you are doing this correctly. It is important that the feet are DRY, this is most effective. Make sure to scrub with some force. Do not over do it though, you can rub your foot raw! LOL.

Step 5, trim and file and buff toenails.

Step 6, Apply thick layers of lotion and put on socks. I personally love beeswax salve products, they moisturize sooo well, and you can make your own.

Good luck! And one last tip, while doing your toes is also a GREAT time to do a full body scrub, slap on a facial mask, and a deep conditioning hair treatment =) Kills 4 birds with one stone.

So I had my first acupuncture session to quit smoking today, and dang was it interesting! I went to a traditional chinese medicine Doctor, and he put needles in my legs, in the top of the feet, the inner calf above the ankle, and the outer calf below the knee. I barely felt the ones in my left leg, but the top right one tingled and felt like I was getting a charley horse!

Then he put needles in my arms above the elbow, and in between my thumb and forefinger. My hands ACHED, and tingled, and felt as if they were "buzzing". It was very perculiar, and my hands began to sweat like crazy!

Side note here, I am a massage therapist, so I wonder if my hands hold a lot of "energy?". I'm not really into energy massage like reiki for example, or even shiatsu, but I can't deny that it did something to my system.

And lastly, he put needles in my EARS! Crazy right? He applied some kind of herbal paste on my face and neck and feet. Smelt like menthol, thank goodness I didn't smoke menthols lol. He left little needles in my ears and told me to push on those points when I felt the urge to smoke. I keep them for 5 days and then go back to have them removed.

I'll keep you posted on my progress! Thanks for all the suggestions and support!

There are so many reasons I want to quit smoking!

Firstly, I picked up this habit at age 12, and have never quit successfully for more than a year.

Secondly, since I started poling I've realized that I have the strength, but not the stamina I'd like. I want to be able to work my ass off without the huffing and puffing, and I realize that smoking is holding me back from future pole accomplishments! I'd much rather pole dance than smoke cigs!!!! Maybe I should consider the pole I bought as my reward for quitting smoking =)

Thirdly, My BF and I are going to get engaged this year. We have been dating 3 years and April will mark the beginning of year 4. I have been saying that I would quit smoking the entire time.. Yeah.. and I do want to get heathly so I can plan on getting pregnant in the next few years. =)

Thanks ladies for your support. Besides an aerial invert, this is the hardest thing I have tried to accomplish in 2011!

Heading in to the accunpunturist now, hope this helps!!! And I'm going to clean out my car (smoking as I drive is a big trigger for me, and I'll need a healthy way to combat this.. hmmm.. maybe ginger candy drops instead??)

Break ups suck for sure, but you can channel all those emotions and dance for therapy! Find some music that inspires you and start with some simple spins and stretches and see what happens 🙂 Sounds like someone needs to make a new video for SV!

So I placed my order on March 17th, with the site saying shipping is 10-14 business days.
A few days ago I got an email from Kim Arcement saying that their shipping was a little delayed, and that my pole would be shipped the first week of April (essentially it would get here 4-5 days late). I emailed back and asked for a partial refund or free upgraded shipping for the inconvience, and she offered me a free sample of Platinum Grip ($9.95 value) and an instructional DVD ($27 value) so I'm satisfied with their counter offer. =)

Kinda sad that I have to wait longer, I'm just so darn impatient. But at least I have a studio to go to so I can get my pole fix!
