Jenyne is my favorite! And I'm impressed she does pole, silks, and hoop! I need an aerial class in my life asap!

I also forgot to mention there is another studio
In the Maryland heights area on lindbergh called Divine Body Fitness that teaches pole classes. Don’t know their drop in policy, but you could see if they have anything. They’re doing a party bus with pole event on sat, info
Is on their facebook. -
Hey gecko, you may want to call the studio to confirm.. But I know there usually are 6 and 630 classes at both locations.. I would be going tomorrow, but Im getting a root canal! 🙁

Hey ladies,
I know this is an old thread.. but I had a few questions about this stage..
Has anyone bought a newer version of this? Like the past 6 months?
Have they changed the way the pole extensions screw together? Is there a locking mechanism? And has anyone unscrewed their pole while doing left handed spins??
If you have one, would you recommend it??

Hi Gecko, try out Fitchix (also known as The Fitness Studio), there are 2 locations in St Louis. The website is http://www.fitsexybody.com They teach cardio strip pole, burlesque, and more. I am an instructor there =) Message me if you have any questions! Drop ins are allowed for any class.

That was so cool! I'm totally jealous! I have to bug my film major BF to make me a movie now! And to think I was impressed when I put subtitles and transitions in my pole vids lol.

I brought this topic up as a chance to urge polers to educate the nbcf on pole dance and fitness. And regardless of the activity used to raise money I think they should have graciously accepted it. Money is still money.
I certainly dont think people shouldn’t donate or support a cause that has helped a lot of people. I just found the situation distasteful.

I can't believe that a charity would turn down a donation? It's not as if someone walked into their offices with a stack of ones sticking outta their thong or something! (And really, isn't money just money anyway??)

Well I went to polejam with the new girls I met.. and while they were very nice, it was obvious they were only interested in learning pole tricks (on the plus side, they paid me for a private lesson..) So I tried to put myself out there…
We had a Xmas party for work and it was a nice change to see all the girls outside of the salon, and with a couple of cocktails it was a good time. I bonded with a new girl and we have been chatting more at work which has been nice.
I guess I'm just a solitary creature.

I'm pretty thick skinned though, and I'm kinda used to negative comments since I work as a state licensed and nationally certified massage therapist. I've had people refer to me as a "masseuse", say that I work at a "massage parlor", that I "rub naked people all day", etc etc.. if it sounds dirty and crass someone has said it to me. (Now add in the facts that I am half asian and also a pole dancer lol).
It's really all about educating people. I explain in no uncertain details what I really do for a living, how much education, time and xperience it involves. I've always had pretty good feedback after taking a moment to explain. And for the ones who still talk smack, I tell them I lost 20lbs poledancing and that seems to stun and shut them up. And I also blurt out 10 min of enthusiastic babble so that seems to interest them too, and at least get them to ask some real questions.
