I have a few tips for great eyeliner!

Try using a small brush or applicator with dry or wet eyeshadow on it to smudge a line along the lashline first, then go over area with pencil or kohl eyeliner. You can get Soo many effects with this technique! Try same color, similar shades, and mix and match! I love gold and pink shadow with bronze liquid liner!

An easy way for liquid liner is to first line eyes with a pencil and then use that as a guide to apply liquid liner over. It’s much more forgiving and helps set the liquid for hours!

And have you ever tried fake eyelashes? They may help you feel kore confident and are
Very easy to apply with a little practice https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif they just take some patience and careful positioning.

Haven’t seen it mentioned, but you should try using icepacks for 15 to 20 non after you pole.
You could monitor your diet to ensure you have enough iron in your system. You can also get your dr to test your blood levels.
Do some very light self massage 48 hours after any major bruising making sure to use gentle slow strokes moving up the legs starting at the toes.
I also highly recommend airbrush tanning for events where you want to wear a dress or shorts but have coverage, plus you look tan and great!

    Here’s my 2 cents…

Set some boundaries, do your homework and try it out!

    Set boundaries such as,
Sitting at a table in the middle of the club (as opposed to the tip rail.
Whether any contact is ok (tipping dancers, lap dances, sitting on laps, etc)
Amount of time to stay there (I recommend staying at least an hour)
Whether you will be drinking (alcohol can complicate things)

Do your homework about the clubs in the area
Go on a Friday or Saturday night when it is easy and in full swing
There will also be more Dancers on the weekend
Picking a club where girls are topless only and in gowns will probably be easier to be comfortable in

I personally love strip clubs and worked at one as a bartender a few years ago. I never saw anyone use a
Pole as more than something to hold when they were drunk. Lol. And now I can’t keep hands off one!

One of out studios has wood floors, the other has carpet, (but the poles at that one are set up on square metal "plates" about 2ft wide.) They allow barefoot or any type of shoes.

i would not care if I could/couldn’t wear heels, but I would assume some people would.
I would go to a studio regardless of their footwear policy.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement and stories you shared!

I’m trying hard to come out of my shell! Our studio had a pole party last friday and I met 3 really nice girls who invited me over for a pole jam! (They are not members, but one of the girls has a pole and wants to learn more tricks). They seemed very nice, so hopefully we will click when we meet outside of the studio… (I’m really hoping that they liked ME, as opposed to wanting to "use" me to learn pole tricks.. and this is where my self doubt creeps in https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif )

I keep doing things I love but it still seems hard to make contact. I had a 15 hour massage training education class over the weekend, and while there were 17 other therapists there, I didn’t have a single good conversation that wasn’t just chit chat. It’s just SO hard to find other open minded people I guess.. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

Either way.. at least I’m putting myself out there!

Hey charley, thanks for the reply! 3 other quick questions, 1) do the gloves run true to size? I tried on a friends non tack size small that fit ok (the left glove seemed smaller that the right?!?) 2) have you had issues with holes or seems ripping? (my friends gloves already had 2 holes near the fingers after only a months use!) 3) does anyone know if/when they are making new gloves? Thought I recalled reading something about a new product?

Conversely, has anyone here made their own gloves? I know a good tailor and I wonder if I could have vinyl pads sewn into a pair of fingerless gloves of my choice?

I can really relate to everything y’all have said! I just don’t know how to find friends. I don’t open up easily, I don’t know if it’s social anxiety as much as I have some trust issues to work on. I have also had problems with commitment as far as keeping the same job, the same location, etc. I get bored easily and I enjoy change. .. Or perhaps I enjoy a fresh start, clean slate. Or even that I self sabotage good things for myself out of irrational what ifs. I do worry alot, especially at night before I go to sleep.. Which is why I’m rambling on at midnight. I’ve always been an insomniac but I’ve had it under decent control for a while. I have seasonal affective disorder too and the weather here certainly doesn’t help.

But ok, now I’m off topic. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif maybe today I am just feeling more lonely than usual, so thank you all for taking the time to read my post and comment. Its nice to know that somewhere, someone maybe is thinking of you.

Hey chemgoddess, thanks for the reply https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I’m 27, I moved to St Louis about 2 years ago and left a great, really close knit group of my best friends in Texas.
Since I’ve been here I’ve yet to meet anyone I could consider a really close friend. Sure I have acquaintances, and friends who only want to hang out at bars, but no one that I can just call up and say let’s hang out.

I guess I’m lucky to have a great boyfriend, but I need female friendships too! Why is it so hard to meet a sweet, funny and friendly girl??? (now I know how my guy friends feel ha ha)

Alrighty ladies, maybe this is a silly question, but are the tack gloves sold as a set or individually? i assume as a set, but I wanted to ask someone before I ordered them..

I have a pair of black vinyl boots and love being able to have a better grip when trying new tricks, so I’m really hoping the gloves will keep me from sliding!
The weather changes here in St Louis are messing with my hands and it’s driving me nuts! Some days I’m the spin queen, and other days I can’t hold on for my life!

I know! I wish she had used the pole and actually done a trick or a climb! lol, wishful thinking. Maybe someday they will be making a movie about how pole dancing began! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I can’t wait to see what kinds of moves the girls and I come up with for upcoming classes and events! Soooo excited!
