OMG so cute! You girls did a fab job, and you both looked adorable! I was really hoping you would slip in a shot of you two eating cupcakes on a pole though. =) Good luck ladies, make your dreams come true.

Honestly, I don’t really get the actual outrage over what we wear to pole. A pair of booty shorts and a sports bra covers more than any bikini I own, and no one bats an eye at the pool.
I used to get really defensive about pole dancing, but I don’t feel the need to defend myself any more because I am living a better life due to the benefits of pole dance. I am in great shape, I’m happy, and I love what I do!
I’ve finally just come to terms with the fact that I freakin love pole dancing. And I will continue to pole regardless of what people think or say.
Hold your head up, smile and ignore those who try to talk down about pole. They are the ones missing out on a amazing community of fabulous and talented people!

I have a contact that does window tinting, so we emailed him asking for a quote. I think he can get clear or mirror tinted pink film. I'll just have to see if the prices makes it worth it. It's totally a luxury =)

Generally most classes I have taken begin with at least a 5 min warm up, moving the arms (especially wrists and fingers), hips and legs and getting in some stretching. Other classes I have taken tend to spend more time warming up and including strength moves, up to 15-20 min.
Either way, you can always warm up by yourself more prior to classes, or request for some additional warms up before class begins.
Personally, I wish all pole classes were 90 min with 20 min or warm up and cool down. =)
Was the spin and the pole walk in your video the only thing you learned during the class? I would consider that a side spin. It's not a hard spin to learn, you did a good job for your first class.

Here is a demo video of install and removal of a pole sleeve.

I also really want a lulu pole mat! Apparently they are willing to partner with a US company who can bring in mass quantities of them, I wonder if they could just be manufactured here in the US instead? I want to be able to practice scary drops and cool twists without as much fear as usual lol.

Or a foam pit, wouldn't that be an awesome practice tool! Seems like I can only find the pole mats from yoga direct, and they are only 5 inches, I would like something at least 8 inches thick.

Try this link for the Althea video

And here are some online companies who do pink glass, but I assume the shipping cost would be atrocious. I was looking for 3 mirrors that are 5ft X 6ft. Maybe I will just get a smaller pink tinted accent mirror to put in a fun frame just for decor.

I also found a company that sells large mirrors with free delivery and install – anyone have experience with them? http://giganticmirrors.com/mirror-pricing
Or maybe I'll just do a few leaner mirrors instead… So many decisions!

I'm finally redoing my pole room in our new house, and I have been creeping all over the internet on everyone else's pole rooms! LOL. I can't decide what I like the most!
People are so creative, and I totally have pole envy of the pink tinted mirror in this video: http://youtu.be/afI4g4Q5Nmc
I called around to some local glass shops, who quoted me $4200 on pink tinted mirrors. Argh! A little out of the price range at this moment.
And of course I can't decide what color to paint! Love these ideas:
Purple and sultry

Yellow and bright

And there are so many themes to choose!
Sexy, dark and candlelit??

I worked at a salon and spa (I'm a massage therapist) that requires their hairstylists to sign a 3 year contract with a non-compete (it also included on the job training costs) and the owner has sued multiple stylists and won judgements against them.
As an independent contractor they are not supposed to tell you when to teach, what to teach, or how to teach. Also, you should be allowed to teach anywhere you want.
If not, they should be hiring you as an employee.
Ask about insurance too – my coverage will not cover IC who work for my company – they need to provide their own coverage. Employees are covered though.
So just a fair warning from my point of view, if you don't like the terms ask to change them, or don't agree to work for that company.

However – the patent leather does tear and look a bit janky. I use nail polish to touch up the scuffs and damages. And I should note, I'm probably tough on these boots – lots of banging, kicking, and scuffing along my pole travels. LOL
