I have had the 'Phantom Move Stealer' strike if I slack on my strength training.

Alethea would certainly know! Great quote! 🙂

In summer months I will slide if I am sweating too much. I keep a towel nearby and a fan on in the room. I like that the pole warms up much faster in warmer temps.
Try poling at different times of the day or night when there is a certain temp outside. In summer I pole around 8 PM… otherwise it is so hot I'm just a mess.
If you are extra slippery make sure you did not wear lotions too soon to poling or other variables you can control. It's a whole lot of trial and error so experiement and be persistent. It will pay off! 🙂

I started out wearing 9s but then the vamp stretched out quick and the shoes got floppy on my feet. It is all about personal preference and you will find what works well for you with a bit of trial and error. I was surprised to size down but that works very well for me. Also in 9s on closed toe my foot slides around too much. I wear very thin socks with my boots so it is absorbant but also not so thick I would need to size up.
http://www.snaz75.com is my fav online store for shoes… and other really fun dancer stuff. You do pay return shipping and a restocking fee though (boo). Since I have a brand and size preference, this works great for me though because I do not need to return shoes.
Getting back to your inquiry though… http://www.endless.com offers free shipping and free returns with *some restrictions apply. They will probably have a little less variety but you can get a 'feel' for how the shoes fit for you. Do a search for "Pleaser' or "Pleaser Platform". I bet you can search for other shoe brand names too… just to see what else they might have. http://www.zappos.com used to carry Pleaser USA but I haven't seen them there for over a year.
Wishing you best of luck! You will find exactly what works for you.

I wear a size 8 for open toe, knee high, ankle high and thigh high platform shoes/boots. Check out the return policy from where you are ordering just in case your boots don't fit.

LOL… I was writing my post while SensualScimitar was. I did get my Platinum Stages brass pole powder coated. I enjoy powder coat but when I do drops I get burns because it is crazy grippy. I still like it but my favorite finish hands down is good ol fashioned Stainless Steel.

It looks like XPole only offers 40mm in Chrome, you might want to give them a call. Their Titanium Gold finish or Brass generally will have more grip than Chrome but Powder Coat is one of the grippiest finishes out there meaning I don't think you will find anything comparable. You can always have your XPole powder coated if you determine you want a PC on a smaller diameter pole.

@Brandi. You make a great point, it is fun to play with our appearances. Thank you for sharing your perspective. Airbrush sounds like a great option for those seeking tans without the injecting/injesting/UV route.

I am sorry to see this. This has to be an extremely difficult thing to be dealing with especially with other medical conditions you are dealing with. I do not have diabetes but I have a number close friends that do. They haven't read books that they have shared with me but they have worked with nutritionalists and then followed up with their doctors for monitoring to see how the dietary changes are working for them. I hope that you are able to get some great advice here, wishing you to feel as well and do great.

Exactly! You can always redefine your goals. The funnest thing about our videos is we can revisit them later to see how far we have come. I record and reference from time to time… even if I don't post them online.
Happy Poling!

You are welcome for the link, I am a Snaz75 junkie!!! They have a great variety and I like that you can shop by heel height.
I'm sorry to hear about your ankle, that sounds like a rough injury. Hopefully you will get stronger and stronger and have less problems. I had a right ankle break and some ridiculous strains. On the upside dancing in heels have made my ankles 'Strong like Bull'!
Best of luck with your shoe shopping and ankle. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Post pics when you get your pretty shoes in!

Like Chem mentioned… you do lose a lot (most) of the platform of the shoe when the height is lower.

it doesn't sound silly.
http://www.snaz75.com has a cool site feature where you can shop by heel height. This will give you a great idea of what is out there in that height range.
