Thanks SensualSchimtar for sharing the top load steps. I went ahead and top loaded mine tonight and much happier with it! I didn't like sliding over the adjuster cover.

Lovin' the 1 piece and how easy it is to change from spin/static.

I can't find your forum post where you described how you top loaded your 45mm brass. I did word search etc and still can't find it. Will you please let me know the post that you put that in?

I started out with multi piece poles and the storage is way more convenient. I am very happy with the single piece but bought it for a particular room. I have about 6 inches of wiggle if I want to try it in a different room but don't have the ceiling variation that you have.

I like stages but they can be extremly heavy depending on the manufacturer. They are also more expensive. The biggest considerations I feel are that you lose pole real estate due to the stage frame (3-12 inches), you have the platform stage area that can make floorwork a little tricky to get used to and the biggie for me… pole sway. Poles on a stage do not have a top anchor so they have a lot of sway.

Call Kevin at Platinum Stages, I spoke with him when I was trying to figure out my best option. In all honesty every time I have called I have received great service and when needed I am transferred to tech support for additional questions. I am happy with my pole and how they have treated me.

I would suggest pick out the room that meets your pole space needs and where you plan on doing most of your pole and buy the pole for that. Take over the dining room with those 10 foot ceilings and put the dinner table in the garage.

    Priorities ladies…. priorities! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Joking aside… I struggled with making the best pole choice for me. Its a lot of money and there are many factors. I hope you are extremely happy and decide on the best pole soon so you can enjoy poling at home.

    Thanks SensualSchimitar,

I'll try to find the right balance, figure I just need to get a feel for it. Dont want it to fall due to not enough tension or bow due to too much.

I am going to attempt the top loading like you did to see how I like that option.

The tighten but dont overtighten confuses me. How do I know when is too tight? Woud the pole bow or would there be some other indication it was too tight?

Thanks SensualScimitar.. interesting that happened to you as well. I will look into flipping to top load it if I have issues with the adjuster cover. I like the look of the pole with the cover in place but we will see how it goes. There are no sharp edges on it. I did some slides over it and all was well. If it gets to where it is preventing moves… then I will flip the pole for sure.

Thanks Erica, I called and spoke with PS tech support, they told me to tighten it a few more rotations. I will tighten it some more and see how that goes.

Have you considered the PS Single Piece Extreme pole? You mention you may be house shopping next year. You should get what you want now and if you move into a house with ceilings that are too different to use your pole, you can sell it and put that money towards a new pole for the new house.

With the single piece extreme you provide your ceiling height when you order and then they are cut to fit. Also… they have about 6 inches of adjustment to make the pole taller. Cant make it any shorter so measure carefully. As long as your new placed had similar ceiling height.

The ceiling mount with that one was only 19.99 more when I ordered my pole, so a bit of a discounted price just for ordering it when ordering a pole. I am using the top dome until I attach the mount to the ceiling.

PS offers a 10% discount for SV members.

I just got it up today and being used to 50mm chrome it was like night and day. PS brass was much more grippy and comfortable. It also had more give to it… hard to describe but you can tell it is softer.

Let us know what you go with, wishing you the best of pole shopping success!

PS brass pole up today thanks to ceiling fan being removed.

There is a part of the installation instructions I do not understand. I bought the one piece extreme super pole and in step 7 it says "Using tool provied, twist one ore more time by placing tool in the hole located at the bottom of the pole". Which tool? They tiny little hex key? What hole at the bottom? I had no idea what that meant and didn't see pictures showing that piece of the instructions.

Also… after I do the install and locking pin is secured when I test the pole by doing some grounded spins the top part of the pole rotates. It is not sliding… it rotates slightly. I removed the adjuster cover and the locking nuts hadn't appeared to move.

I am not sure if I need to complete the step I don't understand or if I need to apply more tension on the pole before securing the locking nuts.  I don't feel secure with that happening so will need to call PS to see if I did the install correctly. Just wanted to see if any had similar experience with theirs.

Now… the pole and what I think of it. Its SEXY! Not sure how I can call a totally inanimate object sexy but it IS. It looks like the room was built for IT and it needs to be immediately ADMIRED.

The smaller diameter feels more natural on my grip and I had better upper body grip/strength with it. I am not used to the flexiness of brass and smaller diameter. This pole has more sway/give than what I am used to. It is BEAUTIFUL! So bright and shiny! Gorgeous.

I will update more with more time on it… great overall impression. Also one piece install…. a flippin dream! Leaving out the part I am misunderstanding.

I am going to install the ceiling adapter but that will wait a bit longer due to still hanging mirrors and installing dog runs… and hanging shelving. The ceiling fan hole would have been perfect but it was too close to the wall so I am going to patch the ceiling fan hole and put the mount about 8 inches back. Since more patching and projects and (going numb from exhaustion) on and on… will do that as a finishing touch.

I am at a point where in a few days will be rocking out with my pole. One more mirror to hang.

Thank you RidgePole, I will see if I can pull it out to find the sheathing.  I appreciate you letting me know, I figured it would have to be printed somewhere! If I'm unable to tell from the inside… I'll return the fixture. I avoid the attic, too much insulation, too dark and spiders. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif

    Thanks!!!

I love your enthusiasm! I can tell you REALLY really like it!

So to top load it… you just slide off the sleeve and flip the pole around? It looks gorgeous!!!

Mine goes up Friday or Saturday… Geting baseboards installed in my room Friday then have to remove ceiling fan and cap wires. I am so excited! Especially after reading about how happy you are with yours.

That's exactly what I love about my X Poles… configurable. I can move them into any room in my house and they adjust to fit the space.

Call X pole and talk to them about their product and if it can be used with your ceiling height. You need to know anything you do is structurally sound so you do not cause injury or damage due to a product failing from modifications.

I have a few Xpoles and they have worked very well for me.

I wanted a single piece brass pole so I just placed an order with platinum stages and my pole is shipping. Platinum Stages offers a 10% discount to StudioVeena members. I couldn't resist! They also also cut the pole to your measurement you provide when you order it.

Wishing you the best of luck with your pole considerations, let us know what you find out.

I looked at the Brasso ingredients and it does have some abrasive items, I was wondering if that is what removes all the build up on the pole and buffs it? I dont even know what all that discoloration is that appears on brass over time is.

I was hoping the pole install instruction has care and cleaning instructions but if not will call PS to see what they suggest for care.

So excited for my pole to arrive tomorrow! Thanks again for sharing the pics, pretty shiny!
