I am sorry that has happened to you. My Dad has chronic Menier's syndrom and ended up with disability due to the severity. He had inner ear damage from his Air Force service. Many times though the cause is not easily determined.

I hope you do not get more episodes but if you do that 'deal with it' stuff is total BS. Get a doctor that is willing to work with you and at onset you can try diurectics and decongestion medicines. For managing the symptoms once it does onset talk to your doc about Meclizine (anti dizzy… sometimes available over the counter) and Phernergan for nausea/vomiting. That is just symptom management… unfortunately. The root cause of it still lingers and the hardest part is normally having to stay perfectly still with your head and not using your eyes to track anything like a computer screen, tv or book. At least that is what I have observed from my Dad's situation.
She is resting and recovering… Been a rough visit for her though with all this going on.
Thanks again!

I expect to do some damage to th floor between heels, doggie nails and doggie pens. I am shopping for the strongest vinyl surface I can afford but am also getting a darker color since it will be taking a lot of abuse. I hope things were ok with the ring on the vinyl since you were renting.
Pegasusaerialfitness, you are an angel. Thank you so very much! The metal strip is the J-mold. Well I spent all morning and day with my Mom in the emergency room. She has vertigo/flu and dehydrated. They did all their diagnostic and sent her back with prescriptions. She is vacationing and wow what an awful vacation for her. While I was waiting for her prescriptions to fill I went and bought the J-mold and wood screws.
I have studfinders, levels (magentic one for pole), drywall anchors, wood screws for the studs… even safety glasses that I never wear. I have a drill that makes these tasks easier. I did not know about the drilling down trick… thank you! I was really nervous but then I realized the mirror is only 35 pounds. I do not want tape or mastic all over my walls so am going to do J-mold anchored into studs and clips to hold it on the top.
Thank you again so much for your help and the detailed post. It really put my mind to ease. Will let you know how things go!!!

I bought the Home Depot mirror (3 X 5) today. Have you actually mounted this mirror? It comes with hardware but once I got it home the hardware seems skimpy for the size of the mirror… Honestly, I'm a little intimidated by it! I was thinking about going back to Home Depot tomorrow to pick up the J-Mold. I can't find the J-Mold hardware packs so am thinking that is just any wood screw that I would use to secure the J-Mold into the studs. Then I thought I could maybe secure the sides with the mirror clips. I didn't want to use tape but now am not sure if I am supposed to for a mirror that size.
Any suggestions??? I know this is supposed to be easy but now I'm unsure on how to do this right.

It is on Aletheas facebook page > Wall Photos. There is a picture of it and then a whole lotta discussion. It may be an older model since The post was made on Nov 27, 10 and it says Star Stand Alone. To summarize one of the biggest complaits with the product was if you did a spin against the threading you would unscrew the pole. There was a lot of discussion and everyone was very respectful regarding the content. I personally have no opinion on the product since I have had no experience with it.
I have an X pole and I love it. I was upset when the joint stripped and feel a better design could prevent that… however… I am still happy with the product. I understand your situation though and I would be very unhappy if I was in your position. When I pay money for a product… I expect it to be defect free and work as expected.
It would be great if there is something they could do for you. Getting you a new pole would be a real nice way to help you try the product and see if your experience is better.
Could you screw into the joist to get your LM pole up and then cover it with compound/putty or something like that when you left?

I saw on the polecon homepage "Certification Programs will be held on June 21-22 and the Convention events will open up on the evening of Friday, June 22 and will go until Sunday, June 24. This is a West Coast event not to be missed!!"
I guess this means that the convention will begin on the 22nd (unless one is doing certification stuff).
I am waiting for the Convention passes and Workshops to be posted to see what will actually be scheduled. Looks like ridiculous amount of fun.
