Pole surface and size is often a matter of personal preference. Stick with the finish that appeals to you since you will be the owner and using it more often. If she later decides to purchase a pole she can purchase a finish that appeals to her.
Happy to hear that you will have a pole buddy and also a new pole!
Enjoy!

There are many talented Pole Artists out there and a lot of this falls into personal preference. Do a YouTube search for Alethea Austin. Her floor work is oozes with sensuality. She is AMAZING!!! IMO. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Wow. No wonder you are upset… I don't blame you one bit. If you paid with a credit card you can contact the credit card company to dispute the transaction. Personally I would not be comfortable taking classes from a studio that was so disrespectful and dishonest.
If you can get your money back you can order your pole online and have it shipped to you.
I agree with PoleFitMom, even though this is infuriating… don't let it discourage you from Pole.
I hope this works out quickly for you and you get your pole.

Be proud of the services you offer and your professionalism. This person clearly has some deep rooted biases that you should not take any ownership for. They may come around eventually… they may move… it is up to them.
Congrats on finding a new space that better meets your needs!

Hi Bluesioux,
Do a forum search for 'Splits in 6 weeks'. I have tried various stretching sequences and this one has been the most effective for me.
Let us know how your progress goes!

I have not found a manufacturer that prevents the 'claw' of toes. I have found it was best to just let my feet settle in the shoes and let my toes fall where they may. Acceptance!
If it drives you nuts you can get thin short anklet socks at places like Target and they are inexpensive. They do not interfere with ankle or leg grip and are so darn cute. This does nothing to stop the forward slide but you do not see toes, you see sock fabric.
I have a variety of anklet socks I wear and also get my toes painted in bright glittery colors. I figure if I am flashing my toes… I'm doing it loud and proud!

The best thing that has worked for me is rubbing alcohol used with a clean towel. I air dry my pole towels so they are not get softeners from dryer sheets on them. Ah the love of pole! Also having it warm before I try any holds etc helps. Good luck!

Holy smokes!!! That was like 20 routines smashed into 5 minutes! Loved it… thanks for sharing this link. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

Thanks LoneStarDiva for starting this thread! I had been looking for pole shorts since I did not have bottoms that were working out. I want a little extra coverage and no 'peek a boo' if you know what I'm sayin.
I ordered two pair of the butterfly shorts and am very excited for them to arrive. I sure hope they work out for me.
I hope they work out for you too… let us know!
Thanks hookedonpole too for sharing, everyone seems to love Pole Skivvies. I want to try the Gemini pole bra next.

Hi HollySatine!
I think the 7 days is a great way to get a feel for it. The sequence of moves for Bikram last 90 minutes.
Honestly I was not poling when I did that form of yoga. I feel it helped me generally with strength, concentration and flexibility. I bet due to all the spine, leg, side stretching it could only help poling. You might find yourself very sore initially… I was!
Instead of taking yoga classes I have found that spending 15-20 minutes stretching after a pole session jamming out to some favorite tunes has really helped me. It is something totally unstructured that I look forward to.
Be sure to stay hydrated and take a big container of water to your first class. Also… dress appropriately. It is hot and humid in those rooms. I used to feel like a crispy chicken nugget baking to death under those lights. My modesty quickly vanished!
If you go check it out… let us know how it goes!

Bikram yoga is intense! I did a 60 day challenge where I did one class a day for 60 days in a row… I was out of my mind. After that I took a few classes a week. It is a very specific sequence of poses that work all angles, strength building and flexibility. I found some calming of the mind benefits as well.
Personally I found it extremely demanding physically, especially due to the heat and brightness of the studio. It is heated to 105 degrees with around 50% humidity. You have to really work on restoring lost fluids and sufficient rest and recovery after a class like that.
I actually gained 15 pounds during the 60 day challenge and my friends started to call me 'quadzilla' since my legs were ripped like nobody's business. I did gain flexibility especially in my hamstrings and spine.
It is something I stopped since it was just horribly sweaty and too hot for me. You should talk to an instructor at the studio you are interested to get more information. I tried it, enjoyed it for the time being but decided it is not the sport for me to continue at this time.
I would suggest that you take a single class to get a feel for it and see if it would be something you would want to add to your routine.
Let us know what you think about it if you try it!
