I love it!!! Booty Shake is awesome and such a fun move! I also got it with the support of Miss Veena's wonderful lessons. It is great to go from 'how do they do that' to… 'I DID IT!'.

Congrats on your Booty Shake! Work it!

I am in week 2 but have missed a few days here or there. The combination of stretches is working very well for me. The supine is a killer for me too but I feel so much better after stretching. Looking forward to progress.

I am sorry that you are dealing with a very tough breakup. Allow yourself time to heal and adjust and I bet that Mojo will come back with a vengeance! I hope you feel better soon and get back to the things that bring you joy.

Thanks! Yes it was quite the learning experience to get that thing undone. I absolutely LOVE my Xpole so it was way worth the frustration! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

I got it and will put this up for anyone that might have a similar issue… I loosened the three screws above the adjuster cover. Then I heated the seam where the adjuster joins the tube with a hair dryer for just  few minutes. I used thick rubber gloves because the hair dryer made the metal hot and did a twist.. it dropped right down.

    Continuing setup… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

Hi LoneStarDiva!!! Awesome screen name by the way!

You have a great attitude and will have a blast. You are not too old to do this… those type of thoughts just keep us from doing what we want. So push that limiting thought to the side and get ready to have fun.

Enjoy! These forums are full of great information and really fun and supportive people.

When I wear my dance heels I am over six foot tall!!! Love it! My favorite brand is Tabu footwear. They are the most comfortable for me and you can customize the shoe as far as the tops/bottoms/fabrics/rhinestone patterns. My second favorite is Pleaser USA. I love my Pleaser Kiss light up shoes and Electra knee high boots.

All of my shoes (except for boots) are strap varieties. I do not want a shoe hitting me in the head or causing other damages.

You probably will build a collection over time… start with what appeals to you and go from there!

    Hi Miss Devious!

A small hippo?!? Nooooooo!!! I appreciate the sarcastic humor but banish that self depreciating talk!

Did you watch the XPole installation video? It is more clear than the manual IMO. It has a small segment on enabling and disabling the spin feature. Maybe someone will chime in with some helpful advice on that since I am awful at explaining that kind of stuff.

I recently started poling and was embarrassed at how little upper body strength I had. I used to be an active exerciser and rock climber years ago. I got the video lessons and enjoy them a lot.

I have built upper body strength by holding onto the pole, doing plank and push ups. My strength has grown dramatically in a short amount of time and I am very encouraged. I am 30 pounds overweight so it is much harder to defy gravity. (I hope in time that number grows MUCH smaller but it does not keep me from poling).

Be patient and persistent… celebrate your accomplishments! The forum is a great place and extremely supportive and helpful.

Keep us updated on your progress!

    Happy Poling!

Do not worry!!! With consistent practice and determination you will get there! I could not even lift my feet off the ground for a pole hold. Not even for a second! I can now. Each person has their own level of strength, the good news is we can work to build it and improve it over time.

You can do it and it is not just you!

I exchanged the Ellie shoes for the Pleaser Kiss light up… I LOVE the Pleasers. They had a pull tab that minimized contact between the battery and the unit. And an extra battery came packed with them… and they came with instructions! I changed the battery on the right shoe and so far so good.

I am really happy with them.

All of these stories are wonderful and very inspirational! I love it!!! I have poled for 8 weeks. My friends are commenting on my forearm definition. I am also getting definition in the back of my arm and noticed my legs are looking leaner. I am so happy to be a smaller and firmer version of me! I look forward to seeing how things continue.

I take a class at a pole studio once a week. I practice pole at home two days a week. I stretch and practice walking and non weight bearing movements on non pole days.

I have wanted to learn this for years, each and every practice is an accomplishment.

Congrats on strength and those flexing muscles!!! I might be giving up on my scale for now. I have extra padding too… I have only lost 2 pounds. I am going to stick with the measuring tape and return to the scale later.

    Happy Poling! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif
