One of my pole friends (and a member here, PoleDancingDiva) suggested an old modeling trick to help with over stretched shoes… I haven't tried it yet, but it sounded promising.  Take some rubbing alcohol and rub it on the inside of the lining that goes over the top of your foot, then take a hair dryer to it.  Supposedly that causes the plastic to tighten.  Idk, if it will work in your situation but it can't hurt.

A good website I use to track my diet, exercise and get motivation from others is Sparkpeople.com.  It's kind of like a Facebook for people that are into exercise and healthy eating.  You can track your calories, exercise, get diet plans and exercise ideas, plus there are tons of articles, recipes, etc. Like FB, you can make a profile page, add friends and join groups.  There is even a poledance group! I'm sure you could find lots of ideas there.

Thanks everyone. I found a key in my boyfriends tool box and used the hammer tapping idea and also applied force by placing the key pushing the pole against the ground, to create more leverage and that did the trick. Was scary for a min there! I was so afraid of stripping the screws but everything turned out good!

I have the Xpert with the X joints, not the ones that screw together…. Is that what you mean?  Or is there an even newer version of the Xpert?

I go through periods like this as well, and sometimes there is no getting out of it no matter what I try. Luckily I have more than just one hobby and I can focus on different things when I need a break from pole.  Is there something else you can focus on for awhile?  Maybe try taking some dance classes or something to keep up with the physical side of things and who knows maybe get some crossover inspiration or something.

Oha nad like Oliviaaa said, stay out of the she said/she said crap, because it only looks bad to outsiders who don't know the situation and may discourage potential students.

I don't know much about legal matters but I would have to agree with JBStarryeyed girl about writing the polite formal letter. I would also encourage your students to write their own reviews about their experiences at your studio.  That way if someone were researching the two studios, they would see all the fab reviews about you as a superior instructor.

Personally, I rely heavily on public reviews when it comes to my choices.  I will go where I see the most good reviews and usually seek out the person mentioned in the review for services.

Not me, but one of my friend who is also a member here just posted a pic last week of a gaping hole in her ceiling on her Fb. She said it was old drywall, but I suspect the pole wasn’t centered under a beam. My pole has left little “bubble like” markings on my ceiling as if the paint is loose from the wall. Very strange.

What does a bomb look like?  Is it like a hip hold with the legs bent?

This is something Ihave been working on and  there are a couple ways I have worked on getting out of it.  Here are some of the combos I have come up with. Some of them I haven't tried yet due to lack of pole height but in theory they would work. Wish I was near a pole right now, so I could check em out.

Marley > Flatline Gemini > Holly Drop

    Marley > Apprentice > Superman

Marley > ITH > Scorpio or Gemini

    Marley > ITH > Butterfly

Never heard of "barre" dancing before, but that performer does have her own website.  She sells aerial instruction manuals and is supposed to be releasing an aerial hoop manual soon. I have her aerial fabric instruction manuals and have found them extremely helpful.  I didn't see any mention of "barre dancing" on the website, but here is her website contact page if you want to get ahold of her… http://aerialdancing.com/AerialDancing/Contact.html.

I don't know if it's considered a drop, but the combo I love doing at the moment is a no handed cradle on spinning into a scorpio.

Thanks for the heads up, Theo. I added you on Fb to see the pic.  DO you happen to know what ingredients they use?

I had the old X pole too, and it never made creaking boises, so it must be related to the new design.
