I am in Houston as well…I can’t do this pole jam, but maybe next time…Sapphirecatzeye I am not very experienced, but maybe we could chat and meet sometime. I would love to meet more people in the Houston area, especially polers!

Fun topic! I am also very musically motivated..in fact poling has made me like a song based on if it’s a good dance song or not.

Some of my favorites ( that I haven’t seen on anyone’s list):

    Chop me up- Justin Temberlake
    Ignition- R Kelly
Let me blow your mind- Eve
    Explode- Damageplan
    Star- Hellyeah
    Diablo Blvd- Corrosion of Conformity
Pretty much anything by The Cult https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
I’ll fuck you blind- Kid Rock
You know I’m no good- Amy Whinehouse
    Season of the witch- Donovan
I just wanna make love to you- LA Guns version
    Where there’s a whip there’s a way- Faster Pussycat

Lol ok I’ll stop before it gets too long!

Sissybuns please keep the updates on your p90x coming!! I want to know your experience so before I order it.

I am also a beginner. I poled for a month and then had to take it down for a while. I recently put it back up so I am starting over, but not fully I guess. Anyway..my goal is every other day. I shoot for an 1- 1 1/2 hours each time that’s about all it takes for me to get tired and board..I get board because I am limited. Every day seems like a new day though and I am so happy with the way you transition from one pole session to the next. It can be frustrating only being able to swing and walk around the pole and do floor work. I look forward to the day were I can climb to the top, hold on and flip around. I know it will only come with practice and that’s my motivation. I agree with watching videos as well. The more I see people that are really good it makes me want to grab my pole. Just don’t give up and don’t go too long with out giving your pole some attention!

Mindy thanks! You are right. I will start to record myself. Maybe I won’t be as embarrassed to show them once I get further along and I will be extra proud being able to look back.

Thanks everyone! I definitely need to add other stuff with the pole to help as well. I suck at patience, but just have to keep it on. I can’t wait to start flying around and actually doing routines. I can’t record myself to show until I can do more than just dip and swing around a bit. I would bore everyone! I try to use a mirror, but also go with the music and not watch..I think for a while I was too into watching myself to flow.

Thanks Jigsawchick. I have the exact same issue with my hands. Not sure hwy they are so weird, but yeah sweaty yet freezing. I will try the certain dri and if I need the gloves then I will get them too, but maybe the certain dri will work on it’s own.

Thanks everyone! Good advice. I have also thought about gloves. Has anyone used batting gloves or weight lifting type gloves? Oh and Avast, what is it that you use?

Ok so Im trying to workout and get a little, well a lot more toned and in shape in preparation for the arrival of my pole, which im not sure when that is because im still saving to buy it, lol. But has anyone tried the nutiva shakes? Ive heard they’re good for say breakfast shakes or protein.

Veena, could you possibly recommend some exercises to do at home? thanks

I love Nutiva hemp shakes. I mix it with vanilla rice or almond milk, or dairy if I am out of those. I also like to add fruit mostly strawberries or a banana, but I just got an antioxidant mix from whole foods that has blueberries, strawberries, and goji berries and I like it too. I have also been adding a little coconut water for potassium. They have some cool recipes on the containers that I haven’t tried yet. I feel really good in the morning since I have been drinking Nutiva shakes. It is a thicker shake and seedy compared to anything else I have tried, but I am addicted! They have tons of protein and fiber.

I need to do more working out. I mostly do stretching and yoga stuff. I want to add cardio and strength. I have really noticed how weak my arms are since getting my pole.
