I read the Fifty Shades trilogy in 2 weeks. I love how the writing sucked me in. Waiting for another writer who can do it, Harry Potter books similar (odd).
What turned me on was the mannerism of Christian hand running thru his hair and various smiling. It was like- real. And the rich man buying her stuff. I have always said "Let's go dutch because it's fair, and my name's Dutch." No man ever argued with me on that, pout. Because my dad was like Christian- felt emasculation if a woman would attempt to split or buy. Told me to find a man that would treat his princess like a respectable lady, and in turn he will get his princess. I want to feel like I'm worth being treated on, at least dinner dates. Yeah all the other frills where a turn on, but thats because I'm self deprived of gifts from others.
Could not stand ANA. I was Christian dump Ana I'm here, willing, obedient! (anyone feel the same?)
I'm into erotica, other genres. I heard Grey's was BDSM focused so I was weary of getting into THAT and what curiosity could become. This is mild – for anyone hesitant.
Just google erotica, you can find a lot of webpages for different genres and there are books- like Best of Erotica 2012, like a story or writer, seek that out.
Enjoy!

Yup, why are you so down on your skills? What are your skills? When I started I was scared but I had to do it, no refunds on the classes and I couldn't afford walking away. I was scared that this isn't my skill other people were more at ease, more of everything I was criticizing myself on.
I decided to focus on my strengths which were surprisingly climbing and floor work, wall work. Good – I was good at something. I can live on that for hope, and I did.
Write down something you are good at, pole related or not.
Write down a reason why you decided to do pole, ( can't be 'my friend asked me', because not all her friends are in the class, are they?) If it's something your friend asked of you – why do you think she think to ask you (she was having fun, she was finding pride in her newfound abilities, she wanted you to feel the same excitement)?
Write down a goal for yourself in this pole journey ( I want to do a spin, I want to booty shake, I want to walk confidently in heels, I want better flexibility, I want to not blush when I receive a compliment) ANYTHING. Try to meet that goal – then reevaluate if you are right for pole or not.
I'm not trying to force feed you pole, but to help you try something new out, give it a chance. True pole isn't right for everyone, but you thought about it, and giving up could be not right for you- now.
CHEERS!

MemberSeptember 26, 2012 at 3:17 pm in reply to: What does your MOTHER think about poledancing?@ https://www.studioveena.com/users/view/4e999784-63b4-4de1-a312-6afd0ac37250 – I have told EVERY female about the sexy pushup. I refer to it as the "at home argument winner".
My mum knows. I'm pretty upfront with her after moving out of her house. We don't see eye to eye on many things of life, but we both understand I don't care if she does or not.
But she's always happy when I'm happy. So indirectly, happy I pole.
When I had my pole up in the apartment I told her to grab it and walk around silly, sexy, whatever. "Do it a couple of times I'll leave the room." I showed her a couple of simple moves since I lacked space. I told her she's not allowed to leave to refreshen up till she did a squat around and whatever she wanted to do afterwards. She did. – I grew up with my mum telling me "you'll do it happy or sad, but you're doing it" I fed her her own medicine. She was invited to do a intro class at the studio. But as usual "I want to lose x amount of weight and get into shape before…" (How did I lose my weight? Pole)
After gifts she knows I like money- who doesn't?! I said now you can give me gift certificates to my studio or these clothing lines (pole clothes) which she does. More happy to give a gift than just money. I should have her buy my pole!!!
She was kinda scared I would be a stripper- but was reassured I would tell her if I did. "Why do you think I have 3 jobs? It's so I have a neutral image for my future I don't want to taint that, but I'm not embarrassed if I was a stripper I would be flattered along with posing in adult entertainment." Eye rolling.
Monster in law is 'unhappy' I pole. I once showed on a family camping trip the 'poling tree' magic, 'look so skinny and no poison oak!!!' and invert! afterwards she had to put up a clothesline on that tree. And when boyfriend & I moved into his new house I brought over the too short for our ceiling pole and she growled (literally if was funny scary, because she's so 'decent') "F*ck No." I explained this wasn't going up, "oh good I was concerned" this is too short for any of the ceilings, so I'm giving it to a friend and in due time buying a more suitable one for the exercise pole room (in that growl) "Ahem what exercise room? That room I told (bf, her son) that was going to be a guest room. A pole will not go into this house, garage, anywhere. This is why you. are. bad. for him. You are, sorry Jennifer (I hate to be called my in trouble name and she's been corrected so many times and doesn't care) you just are no good and it's a shame you can't be an adult and let him move on." I smile as I learned this is war.
(Note bf and I have been living together for 9 yrs he doesn't like that I pole because he is afraid I will say in public 'I want to be a stripper' I think that his mom has sometime to do with that, I've assured him and teased him- a stripper with this body? He's scared I'll hurt myself, before poling I was the weakest person to walk this planet, my own admission)

Poling can be done in teams Anderson! I want more friends and boyfriend to pole so we can be a practicing-to-be bad ass doubles!

oh my my first message got so edited, stupid phone!
I was stating my dad wouldn't let me do jazz as an elementary school child because of the immodest outfits, and the religious base of modesty at all times. He let us dance however we wanted even if some were adult belly dancing moves – ( he mentioned, if the kids are having fun why should I scare them to think there are predators that demonize dance, music, cultural outfits). Also my dad did his best to protect my family against negative self image (if you worked on a team you fall prey of competitors that might not like you for whatever reasons, pressure you to feel and behave not true to yourself) he wanted me to work hard on being healthy and strong.
Maybe he would have disapproved of me pole dancing in any point of my life because he would've wanted to protect my body and mind from pain and judgment. But I'm grown up now

hypocritical wonder of being able to climb and SPIN (oh cool!) and be strong.
I think it's WRONG to allow our culture to keep being scared of our sexuality. Our bodies can and will be sexy whatever we do- depending on how people view it, or define it. Being sweaty, with hair misplaced, and bruises are not sexy- yet at times that's "pole dancing" for me. Wearing booty shorts, that's volleyball to me.
If we make people scared to think outside the box of vertical fitness, pole dancing, "whatever you want to call it to make yourselves feel better– strippers in training" it will be a long time to open the possibilities for more fun things that are foreign to us and in the US.
Maybe in kid classes there should be a horizontal and vertical pole.
If I were a guest or audience member I would like to ask, What's your fascination with the stripper population Anderson? Why can't we discuss that? Or are your executive producers fascinated with underage athletes?

I was thinking of getting a 45 or 38mm PS. I love hand grip on 45, curious in a good way about 38. I’ve never tried any thigh grip or kneepit grip on the 45. (visiting another studio).
But at times I wonder SS or Brass.
I’m a sweaty girl and SS is sometimes a nightmare sometimes a dream. Brass is optional for me, due to grip only perks (all seasons I like brass when attempting/ learning a spin, sit, climb, grip. But spinning on brass (50) in studio -when I know the spin- no fun.
So those with PS 45 or 38; brass or SS why? Sweaty body & hands – always or heat seasons? -
When will Studio Veena and platinum stages have a cool order agreement ?

I was an infomercial exercise junkie. But I needed a place time and others to committ to. So I did bootcamp at my pole studio. Some instructors I gave them my Brazilian Butt Lift and Pilates and insanity discs to mix it up luv that they’re being put to use by me one way or another.
I want to get flexibility DVD but I know I need a class to attend (eye rolling) in order to actually do it.
Whatever makes it work, works! -
Same boat I can’t wait for some advice.
Practice is ok on my hands, then when I think of doing a combo – I’m just happy I still have grip. At the studio I have 2 towels in my shorts or tank, (for me & pole).
My nerves get the best of me and I just close my eyes most of the time. Which isn’t smart.
Polers what can we do or think good thoughts to be more progressive ? -
Well just make some plans for the performance and say sorry I can’t make it.
I never want to perform for our studios open house student shows and luckily my bf is old school & doesn’t want me to even do pole. I kinda use that as a lame excuse. I kinda want to only to show other girls you don’t have to look pro to join, then there might be more lower level & conditioning classes. That’s tempting, not enough tho.
Your teacher can’t make you. And tell her these expectations makes you feel uncomfortable to stay at the studio. -
Last year I was 29 & 183 lbs. last year I started making a bucket list because life was either just beginning or ending. I didn’t know which attitude I was going to hold. I started to let depression capture me. I was energetic, weak, and grossly underweight in my teens & thru college I became the best student, not good person to myself.
My bucket list was to learn dance- as many forms as possible, develop flexibility, strength, confidence in myself, become less cynical.Get healthy! Along with more items on my bucket list. Above mentioned are the things I can say I’m attempting everyday with no check box near them so it’s always a work in progress. I like it that way! Poling awaken me to be a better me. Sometimes I’m blue sometimes I’m tickled pink. I think everyone is a various times.
If it works make your bucket list be busy getting old. -
A while ago that was me. I was uncomfortable, and felt unsafe to address issues to the boss. My boyfriend said to me- make finding another job your first job, the job you have your second priority. I’m currently at my first job, but I’m not as uneasy, I’m being more professional. And my boss got laid off from corporate office. I still need another job due to the evil coworker is the weird reason my boss was a freak and got laid off.
Advice; job then quit. Money has a face, faces have mouths, mouths talk; Money talks. Speaks volumes- especially when it’s nowhere in your hand. -
Have you paid for Veena’s lessons? Are you a type (I am) that needs a specific place, time, person to be motivated to workout?
Have you thought about the fun BodyRock.Tv website (FREE) other than some tools which you can modify.
Cheers to you for taking a step, progress is progress, like the proverb states Its the journey, not the destination, that makes us who we are. -
O KAY Stylish is a guy- not as jealous, still awestruck. Damn. I had a zumba instructor who would do this- it annoyed how good he was, tiny butt not yummy I like thick ass men.
