Awesome, thanks for the tips! I will be trying the moves I think I can pull off for sure!
I have never posted a video but would not be opposed to it! I will work on it over the next few days and get it up here.
The funny thing svarri is that when I do the Brass Monkey from the shoulder mount I am on the opposite side I flag on, and cant do the flag from the floor on that side! but I can on the other side! Weird how the body does that! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

    Keep posting! Thank you!

Thank you so much for the ideas! I wasnt feeling to inspirational by that song choice and wanted to go darker, so instead Im doing "Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson. Much more dark!

I really loved the costume idea you had Voodoochild! Red and black fishnets and boots! Sequins! Love it!
Anyone know if its possible to dance in a corset? I would have something underneath to protect from any wardrobe malfunctions, https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif , but as far as the stiffness and movement go? Seems a little tough but it would be so hot! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

opps guess I missed this post… If any of you are interested or are taking the SV lessons I have some lessons for this very issue….I’ll post the first vid for each series

Im the same way! I feel it in my less dominant arm when it is on the bottom. Well its not normal, but it is common! Pain shouldnt be there, but for some of us it is.

Veena’s post is great on the forearem strengthening exercises! We need that!

and stretching after each is a great. Those forearms become so tight.
Good Luck! And keep posting with any helpful info, its so nice to share it with others, then you know your not the only one! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cat.gif

I know this chat is long over, but maybe someone else will stumble upon it!
I have experienced the same pain and know of many other that have. Speaking to my chiropractor this is a "normal" pain for what we are doing. The reason being is that the bottom arm, although it is pushing you away from the pole, it is still taking some weight, you are pushing away from the pole – pushing your weight away.
The muscles in the forearm are not meant to take weight and as women we do not "work" our forearms intentionally like men sometimes do.
What is haapening, is the muscle are getting extremly tight in the forearm and are pulling in the wrong direction and pulling too tight. The pain feels like a stress fracture or something and can be scary at first.
With a lot of massage and rest, 30 min massaging each forearm, this will get better.
I found that with the massaging techniquies I was able to the the split grip, or bracket hold, without pain. If I overuse that grip it will come back, but not nearly as bad as before.

I believe in chiropractors to the fullest! I had a great one that I was recommended to by a friend who was poling so he was already aware of it. He doesnt do the traditional adjustments, he did a pressure type of adjustment using a tool and I went once per week for a few months then only every 2-3 months now and I feel way better!
If I was having problems with moves of getting pain from them, he would come up with strength exercises for me and have me work on them. He is extremely knowlegable and helpful! Stick with it, it will get better!

Congrats! I agree, leaning back a bit more and getting your body a little more horizontal seemed to help me start. I still have to use a bit of momentum, I dont have the dead lift part either!
I also agree that starting in a basic invert and coming down in a shoulder mount really helped me learn the strength and control portion of the mount going up! Everyone places their hands in a different grip, I like the cupped hand grip and as far as sides go, I put the pole on my left shoulder with right hand on top and kick up with the right leg. I have seen people do right shoulder right hand on top and right leg! I guess its all how you learn it and feel safe with it!
    GOOD JOB! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cat.gif
