Congratulations on your new addition!
From personal experience (three c-sections) you will never, ever forget the pain of pulling your c-section scar! I think it took longer to heal from that mishap than it did any of the actual c-sections.
I think that the reasonable answer of 12 weeks makes a lot of sense (see polevixen83's resonse). It allows the extra time to ensure you are healed as well as the time for your body to adjust to not being pregnant any longer.

List it! It might be a tad unusual, but it's also something to be proud of especially since you teach it as well.
That show sounds great! Can I find any episodes online? (I'm in the US so I couldn't really watch it on TV.)

TansyRae- you couldn't be more spot on! Yes, it's ok to be grumpy about something that you really want for yourself. Just like when a partner really wants a table saw and they get a table saw – what's so different about wanting something(Veena lessons) for yourself?
All this talk makes me remember the Simpson's episode where Marge gets a bowling ball with HOMER engraved on it. She takes up bowling 🙂
But I'm not complaining – my x-stage lite has been ordered. Which means I'll ask for Veena Lessons for Valentines 🙂

I love this thread! Thank you for starting it.
I used to be a 38H – nursing twins, so there was some serious work going on there. My normal size is 36DD, but for the life of me I can't find great bra's or tops. Acceptable ones, yes, but nothing that is fun or cute or flirty, everything looks so industrial and sturdy -ugh!
I have always said that if I could donate to the "less fortunate" I would, in a heartbeat, but I haven't every stopped to consider the personal identity associated with being a large breasted woman. Good thought provoking idea Pankake! It's something I'll be mulling over for a while.

How fun – two exciting things to look forward to: baby and pole! Congrats on both. I'm a not-so-small busy pole mom as well. 4 kids and full time job make pole my only real escape for myself. Some days it's a lot harder to get time to pole and there is always the next move to learn, which makes it stimulating mentally and physically. Enjoy it – and you have found a great site here at Veena! Everyone is helpful and nice – at least as far as I have seen.

MemberDecember 4, 2012 at 11:53 am in reply to: gluten free/dairy free, eating more vegetablesMy soon to be mother in law is GF and DF(mostly, occasional butter if it's in a recipe). She has been for many years. Some of the things that she laments are lack of "fun" foods, so I started creating GF cookie recipes and other dessert things and she loves them. I am also working on a GF pasta recipe, trying to get some flavor into it as well, liek a sun dried tomato or a spinach pasta. I also came up with a GF protein bar that had a good taste, but it had almost zero shelf stability.
Best advice I can give is search online for GF friendly food stores in your area! There is a GF bakery in MN called bittersweet bakery and they offer some great things. But, research what you can find that's close to you, other people working GF friendly stores have been very helpful to me while I try to come up with recipes! Good luck.

Nice! I like the view from the top of the pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
An accomplishment is an accomplishment – No one starts at advanced.

I like how you explain that Pankake! I don't want to say I close my eyes, because I don't, but I am not truly seeing anymore either. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

One of the things I have is hand strength – a lot of it. I LOVE the spin option! Being able to combine things(spin combos) that you can't in static as well as moderate your speed by position is quite empowering. Spin makes me feel like I can fly! To help control the dizzy factor, I concentrate on the pole itself. Enjoy spin https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

Ok – here it is – I SUCK at pole. Yep, it's true, but, I am getting better. If we can, I leave the pole up and catch a spin or a hold as I am going by it. Sometimes, that is my only poling of the day. 4 kids and a full time career have a nasty habit of leaving me little time to pole. However, each little spin, hold, booty-up, body wave makes me smile, because it's a moment of doing something I love. Another secret – I dance in my cubicle at work – so far, I haven't been caught. Mostly fluid movement, reflective of bellydance, but it's still fun.
The reason I'm giving up secrets here is to point out that I pole for me. I'm not going to look like anyone other than myself, even though I may want to look like Rixi in those rocking skates, or you, luvlee in that awesome gold bikini, I'm still going to look like me. My time on pole, be it 5 minutes or 55, is for me. One of the few things I choose to give myself.

I have one(black, standard) and I do not like it. I think the reason for this is the studio has xpoles and they feel quite different(better) to me. As soon as it's financially possible, I will be getting a 45mm xpole. Also, if you can get the spin, do it – I say this because you don't have to use it on spin, but it's nice to have it available to play with.
My pole is several years old and I haven't seen any issues with the ceiling.

I have Pleasers, but I don't have to go up a size for them. 6.5 regular shoes and 7 in the Pleasers, two different styles. I tried on one pair of Ellies, in a 7, they fit well. Don't know if that will help too much.

Great peanut butter option (in my opinion) is PB2 http://www.bellplantation.com/
If you want it sweeter – a little Stevia, liquid or otherwise goes a LONG way. I also like cooking with small quantities of simple oils – pressed usually, not overly processed.
Tastes change as we age, as well as what we force ourselves to adjust to. As a kid I loved Pixie stix, now I gag if I have to look at them. Things I also used to hate: broccoli, tomato, spinach. I eat all of those things on a regular basis now. Salsa makes a great replacement condiment (I do homemade). Vinegar has also become a favorite salad dressing. You never really know what you'll like unless you keep trying things.
