    Hi ladies!! First of all, I am also almost 49!! Yeah us!! I have one bit of advice and that is to train both sides. If you train only one side imbalances will occur and injuries can follow. Also, we humans don’t really use out intercostal muscles because we no longer breathe well! When you inhale try to expand and separate your ribs.. Like seriously expand your ribs. We have to breathe anyway so we can some off the pole training for those little guys and let our traps and levator scapula have a break from our normal breathing habits!! I hope this helps!!

    Have you considered doing a whole 30? I am pretty much paleo but when crap starts finding its way in my mouth I tighten up with a whole 30!! When I do it, I also have a lot of breakthroughs with pole! Whole30.com

  • You are building strength in a way that increases your strength to weight ratio which is so healthy. I know a lot of people who lift weights who are muscular but aren’t able to lift themselves. They are just adding mass. Pole dancers are bad ass!! Love your body and all that it does for you!!!

    What you eat matters!! An anti inflammatory diet is the rest so when your immune system does need to fight something it is equipped to.  Sleep is so important too!! Whole9life.com is the best website ever for nutrition!! I love it!!!

    Amy, you are ridiculously amazing with placement! I took a workshop with you and you helped me nail proper placement! Everybody else, take a workshop with Amy if you can!! She will save your ribs and your life!!!!

    If you are eating a paleo diet make sure you are eating enough fat! Avocados are great but coconut butter(not oil) really helps me!!

    Every time you go take a class you are creating a job for both the instructor and the studio. If they get mad enough to kick you out of their studio simply by exploring other studios to help you along with YOUR pole journey then I feel really bad for them. They are not only jealous but they certainly don’t know how to run a business. They are basically saying they don’t want your money so I say go create a job for someone who wants to give you the best pole education ever.

    I love that I listened to my gut and decided to break off my engagement
    I love my amazing yoga practice that has been my calm in the midst of chaos
    I love my pole instructor (Chalese) who is just pure bad assery in a loving supportive package!!
    I love this website cuz you are all so supportive
    I love my job..I work for a great airline and I have great coworkers!!
    I love my gut!! It has yet to steer me wrong
