@Lyme- I believe you were one of Pole Harmony's first ever students! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif Yes I am going to continue working as a nurse.
@Cali- I hope you do get a chance to visit some day! Would love to have you.

The inverted V is a move that can be difficult for many because it requires engaging the core to pull the hips in the correct position. Just because you can invert, doesn’t necessarily mean your muscles are strong enough to do the inverted V. I’ve seen a lot of students struggle with this move in particular. It does make transitioning into an invert or inner leg hang smoother and prettier, however it’s not a move that you have to be able to do to progress with your inversions.

Thanks for all you input. I personally would never take supplements but I wanted to get a general idea of this new trend I’m seeing in the pole industry about supplements. I don’t believe in them and if I recall correctly as being AFAA certified, I am not even allowed to promote fitness related supplements in any way. And as a nurse, legally I am not allowed to suggest supplements because it would be considered “prescribing” which is not within my scope of practice.

The great thing about that many people have forgotten or have over looked (which is common when you first start and are blown away by the amazing videos) is that you don't have to be "it all" right away. Pole is working on flexibility, strength, flow, and floor work. It's all a balance that is an ongoing process that develops over years of dedication. Start slow with the process by setting realistic achievable goals that you can progress from. Always keep in mind every person's body is different, therefore you have to take the time to explore the movement that works best for your body and it's limitations. Start with the basics and develop a strong foundation. The rest will all fall into place. Veena offers an amazing collection of lessons here that can guide you. I highly recommend them. In addition, if you have a local pole studio, I recommend taking classes. With the desire to want to be as good as all those videos we see out there, it's very important to have guidance from a knowledgeable source that can assist you in proper technique. Injuries are real and can have a serious impact on your progression. The best solution is to do your research and listen to your body. This community here is a great resource as well. Good luck and welcome to the wonderful world of pole!

He is very supportive of me but he would rather be doing something he enjoys when it comes to going to pole events/shows. He is just not as into it as I am, which is fine by me- everyone should have their own interests when it comes to a relationship.

I don't think so? I was waiting too.

I know it may seem like the solution for right now, but as the weather changes you may want to consider seeking out the assistance of a shelter in your area.

I think you have to know the person's real name that they use to register their Google + account. I didn't want to post that information here but if anyone wants to pm me I am willing to share those details. I had problems finding people too. The Google + video conferencing is really nice. I was able to play around with it earlier.
