It would also depend on your rigging setup. I chose the single tab because initially I had my rigging at my old house with standard ceiling height. The double point would have taken up more space and prevented me from hanging my hoop at an adequate height. If rigging is versatile and you’re not sacrificing height, you may like the double point better due to being able to do a little more with it.

Anchor points. A single tab only has 1 anchor point to the rigging while a double tab has 2. There’s a variety of tricks and poses that can differ between the two. Double tab can incorporate more trapeze like poses due to the space created by the 2 anchor points attached to the rigging.

I’ve used multiple stage poles and currently have the platinum stages star stand alone. They no longer make/sell this stage though. I used to have a regular x-stage. I’ve used the x-stage lite and as far as stability, I feel like stage poles are fairly stable feeling. You are going to have a bit of sway which is normal as it is not affixed at the top. I don’t particularly notice the sway personally during my practices.

Thanks for posting Veena! I look forward to your instructional video you’ll be posting. I like the idea of showing how to put it up with 1 and 2 people.

MemberFebruary 20, 2016 at 2:34 pm in reply to: Fitness Trackers and Exercise Options: Pole Dancing & Aerial AcrobaticsI made the post but someone emailed me and told me I needed to make the post on a different forum. I’ll remake it when my laptop is charged and I have a chance to sit down at my computer and repost here later.
I have the FitBit Flex (no HR monitor). I wanted the option to wear on my wrist or put in a clip to clip on my clothes. The HR monitoring is only available in the wrist band options. Not something that works for all my workouts I do.
The app suggestion for Pole Dancing/Pole Fitness and Aerial Acrobatics was to classify my workouts accurately with the ability to record intensity. The Jawbone tracker I was previously using allowed me to classify my workout as easy to difficult. I don’t see this being a problem for the developers to integrate when Jawbone is already doing this in their tracking app. I’ll try to post the link today to the forum discussion for you all to vote on it. Thank you!

I am going to take their advise and add a forum suggestion. If you’re also a FitBit user, you can vote for my forum discussion so the developers see it.

Am I missing a setup video? Does Xpole have one that someone can send me the link to? That would be really helpful.

OMG. Okay so 2 1/2 hours later, I figured it out. It is a VERY finicky process but now that I know what to do, it’s a piece of cake. So I used the hex key to hold the first two holes while I lined up the marker lines to catch the third hole. I laid mine down and set it to 3 holes exposed, pinned at hole #4. Then I walked it up and went one by one to raise it up to 7 holes exposed, #8 pinned. I am going to have my husband help me raise it higher this evening because now that I’m exceeding the holes on the lower part of the telescoping leg, I couldn’t find the holes on the third inner piece. I have really high ceilings in my house so I may be able to extend it fully. Also, I didn’t realize there was a loop on the strap and thought I was supposed to feed the strap through the U-clamp on one of the pins…LOL. Nope. A little more detailed instructions would have been nice. My rig didn’t come with instructions so I had to look them up online.
So now after reading your reply I polekat I, I realize I have set mine up wrong like you did the first time in your first picture. The holes are exposed on my bottom piece. That makes a lot of sense considering I tried to raise it up and couldn’t find any more holes to pin. I also had to hammer a pin through when attaching at the top to the chrome triangle top bar. My holes weren’t lined up for the pin to feed through. It’s a pretty snug fit. I think as more people use it and troubleshoot the problems, Xpole will gather all the information and be able to provide customers a more thorough guide. I think we’re the industry guinea pigs in finding out how this product needs to be communicated better for setup. Overall, I really like my rig and feel like it’s pretty durable at this point. Can’t wait to get home and get back to properly setting it up when I get home tonight from work.

MemberMay 6, 2015 at 5:16 pm in reply to: Outside “Showcase” and Loaning out My X-Stage LIteThe liability aspect is really a question for your insurance company. Some insurance companies will not cover if there is an injury while using your equipment- which could result in personal lawsuits against you. Contacting the parks department regarding the event is what I would do to make sure there aren’t any permits you would need to obtain for performances. I have had people mess up my stage pole in the past too. I don’t rent my equipment out anymore. If you’re renting it out you may also need to make sure this is cleared by your insurance as well. As far as charging a fee for setup- I don’t think that is unreasonable at all.

I’m VERY interested in the x=pole warmers. The other brand warmers a little too pricey for me being a studio owner.

I haven’t read through everyone else’s responses but my flow came from slowing down every move and being able to see more of my movements in a bigger mirror. Eventually when I mastered the movement with how it felt and look I was able to rely less on watching myself in the mirror and focusing on enjoying the dance.

People don’t want to spend a lot of time navigating a confusing website just to sign up for a class. I like to think my website is pretty straight forward but a lot of times I still get people calling questions when the answers are clearly written on the website. Generally people don’t really read the website, they just want to click and be done with what they came to do which is sign up for a class.

I had the lessons back in 2008. I never renewed because life has gotten in the way. I now own and operate my own studio and now it’s just a matter of having time to even use my membership. I had a membership to another video service and I rarely used it.

MemberAugust 14, 2014 at 5:15 pm in reply to: Trapezerigging.com portable rigs, any reviews?I own a quad portable Ludwig rigging! I love it! I also thought you could set it up with one person but I got it up and needed assistance for the last 2 extension pieces. It’s super portable and easy to put up and take down. Mine is from here: http://www.damnhot.com/
