OMG, THANKYOU!!!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif Dang, I’m a day late. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_neutral.gif I’m feeling like the neglected step child here in the Midwest. ::sigh:: Maybe if we Midwesterners were recognized in some form of the competition I wouldn’t be so clueless as to what was going on. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

UGH…Ok, so I looked at the uspdf site and no where do I see anything about the 3 people everyone in this thread was referring to about the numbers and such. I don’t see anywhere that these people are even in any form of this competition. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif I looked all over! I don’t even see the "voting closed" thing either. I think I’m on the wrong site???? I am so confused. Can we start referencing these threads with the appropriate links for people like me that are too caught up in life to be bothered by tedious searches? LOL. Thanks. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Ok, this is a little off base- but where are you people finding these videos and voting? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif I’ve obviously been out of the loop on this one. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif It’s hard for me to keep up and know what competitions anyone is talking about these days because there are so many. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

Poling gives your body a beating! So what do you do to help prevent injury or to maintain a healthy body? Do you do a longer warmup? Cooldown? Target strength training? Stretch more? Monthly massages?
I make sure I stretch before and after a workout. As far as bruising, its inevitable and just going to happen. With frequent moves my skin and pole contact areas have gotten used to it and I find myself bruising less often. I also make sure I wear footware now, to avoid kicking walls or ceilings that otherwise have caused injury to my feet.

WOW….that journalist was not being opinionated…LOL…..I think there’s nothing wrong with kids going to pole class with their Moms. The names are a little inappropriate but really, what 5 year old even knows the name of the class anyway? It’s not like the child is signing her and her Mom up for the class online like "Oh here you go Mommy, sexy flexy- now THAT looks like a class I want to take!" LOL. How obsurd people can be. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

WOW- same here Yoga, I saw this post too and thought wow, its carmel. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif Which we’ll be going on 1 year next month. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif Happy poling 2 years to Azriel!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif And to Carmel who would’ve been celebrating her 2 year pole anniversary this weekend and next month her birthday which unfortunately is no longer a celebration of another year getting older but a celebration of the life she lived. Still in our hearts and memories.

I second what megs said but then out of the flatline scorpio go into a wrist seat which should put you back in position to upright yourself into a pole sit.

Congrats ladies! I hope to come and visit the studio some day. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I’m really glad their company handled things appropriately and in a professional manner. I think it really says something about the changing perspective of the pole fitness community and how a little awareness can go a long way. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

We call the first move the archer with hands. Its called the full archer if you let go of the bottom hand. The second move we call the stag jade. Its a full jade when both legs are split straight. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif
Thanks Joni! I knew the second one was a variation of the jade but I’d seen someone else do it with that leg bent and again with the holding leg bent while the other one is straight. So many variations to everything. I will remember that one. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

My Letter
To Whom it May Concern:
I am writing this email in regards to the order placed on August 25, 2010 by a Mr. Christopher Brand (reference order number 0010544613). I’d like to take this time to speak up about the growing pole fitness community here in the United States. Pole Fitness is a growing athletic sport that requires strength and agility. The use of a pole is the exercise equipment of choice. Many men and women practice this exercise daily as their work out regimen- just as someone who goes to the gym, those participating in pole fitness can do so at a pole dance studio or the comforts of their own home. The image of "pole dancing" is currently evolving from the typical stereotype of the sex industry involving strippers to a sport currently being considered for the Olympics. Mr. Christopher Brand and his wife are considered pioneers of the evolving sport in the United States. They own an international company with thousands of participants in the pole dancing community. It is a great disappointment to everyone involved in the community to hear about the incident that occurred when Mr. Christopher Brand attempted to place an order with their trademark company image. The image in question is in fact his wife in silhouette form performing one of her infamous pole moves. I have in the past been a customer of personalized M&M’s. I had a wonderful experience and had planned to use personalized M&Ms again in the future. I strongly encourage M&M’s company to reconsider Mr. Christopher Brand’s order request as well as similar future requests. I understand M&M’s feels that the image in question was inappropriate, however I would have to disagree and find the advertisements with a certain green M&M portraying a provocative stripper to be more offensive than Mr. Brand’s image request. I hope you will further educate your company team members on the sport of pole fitness in the United States. (http://uspoledance.com/USPDF_USPoleDanceFederation.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) Thank you so much for your time and consideration of my letter.
