I don’t think I’ll be attending the chat because of my work schedule interfers with the timing. I’d like to send my condolences to her family, close friends, and everyone elses life she touched. She will be greatly missed here on Studioveena- words alone cannot express the magnitude of her loss. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

This is reall weird and I’m just in shock. I was thinking of her on Wednesday because I had heard about the the earthquack and tsunami and New Zealand being on an alert. I didn’t know her very well but every time I was in chat she would always immediately welcome me and was very sweet. I first met her on Studioveena back in either January or February. My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to her family. I wish I knew more but with distance and no real solid family contact, it’s heartbreaking to have discovered this news this morning. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cry.gif

Read this article I found on the internet from a studio owner that wrote her own informational guide to poles. I think this pretty much sums it up and I couldn’t have put it better myself: http://www.clevelandexoticdance.com/polearticle.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here is a specific quote from her article at the end about peekaboo dance poles:
Please do not buy the Peekaboo Pole, Carmen Electra’s Pole (made by Peekaboo), or XTreme (or any questionable pole off of Ebay) unless you want a pole that you cannot perform spins or inverts on. These poles are to lean against and do sexy poses. I cannot consider them anywhere near the category of being professional poles.
Hope that helps. Don’t want you to get hurt on something that is being used for what it is not intended for. Even though peekaboo pole site claims you can do everything on their pole you can do on an xpole- I really beg to differ. Need more convincing? Watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8qBsb8G66U" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
(sorry you have to turn your head sideways to view the video…..there are multiple videos on youtube about the dangers of peekaboo dance poles.

I just did a basic youtube search for pole spins and found this video:

I favor this post…I am looking for one in Indianapolis, IN- or close to there. Would possibly be interested in going back to Chicago for a weekend with the family for this one. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

I’m not exactly sure what you’re asking…..it could be your grip- but I’m not sure what it is you’re doing for me to tell you whether you’re doing it right or wrong….do you have any videos posted somewhere that we’d be able to see to tell if you’re executing your moves correctly? I would also suggest starting out studying beginner moves videos- Veena has an excellent selection of how to tutorials available and are very affordable. It’s fun to monkey around with the pole, but if you don’t know what you’re doing and don’t learn things properly, you could seriously injure yourself- which could ultimately lead to not being able to pole at all. The best advice I can give you without being able to critique what you’re doing is to do all the work of learning and let yourself build your knowledge with your strength.

I watched Redke’s Beginner Moves video on Youtube & wrote all those down & have been practicing those.. when I have perfected all those my plan is to move on to the Intermediate moves video!! lol.
That is an excellent idea! Why didn’t I think of that? LOL.BTW, Thanks Karol for your awesome videos! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif

I ate for BF today: plain bagel w/butter, cottage cheese, and blueberries. To drink: Orange Koolaide. I usually drink a cuppa tea but didn’t feel like it yet. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

sorry, just saw that it’s not available online…..I wonder why…..LOL.
Ikea never has their merchandise available online. Try ebay, their actual store if you have one near you, or requesting a catalogue.

With mention of creating a hardwood floor like dance floor/make your own stage- my gears got to turning. I’ve been pondering this idea for several days now and have decided to take on such project of my own for several reasons…
1). After todays rug burn experience.
2). In my sexy shoes I don’t feel like I can move elegently
3). My pole room is going to become the babies room eventually- later than sooner if I can help it, so therefore pole will go out in garage and poling on dirty floor is not appealing to me at all- so Whalla! Instant dance floor will provide safe haven for me to dance on and place mats over.I’ve even considered gearing this up to adding special LED lighting and chaser lights- ofcourse having an IT/mechanical engineer as a bf will help in this process. His latest projects are being devoted my pole room- including upgrades in the video system with mounts for optimal camera placement, all of which I informed him of tonight…hehe. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

I use windex. It works on my pole and on me just fine.
