Luv Dirdy Birdy – her gear is very comfy and flattering.
Personally I am not a fan of any halter style tops that put pressure behind your neck but the “fly” & “meow” tops are brilliant. I also run in mine cuz they don’t rub me and they support my small bust well whilst looking very sporty. But i’m not too sure how you would go in the “meow” top for running (or inverting) if you were large chested.
The shorts, bikinis and slinky style pants are also great – just depends on the look and amount of coverage you want. The shorts are awesome, fold over at the top and there are heaps of colours / styles to mix n match with your tops. If you want to show off your butt then definitely get the mini shorts, they show off butt cheeks much better!
The only thing I don’t like is the fact that the padding inserts in the tops come out when I wash them so I have to keep reinserting or arranging them after a wash & I also wash them in underwear bags or else you (sorry I should say hubby) may lose the inserts!
The white ” fly” top can also go a bit see through if you’re really sweaty too.
I get great comments on my DB wear and they are great for both poling and general sports activities….DB has excellent customer service AND there is a sale on right now!!! Can’t beat that 🙂 …. Can you tell I’m a fan of DB?!
I do have some other pole clothes but I just don’t find them as comfy or attractive to wear.

Most of the top Aussie Polers use Georgia!

I’m pretty sure this is a costume by Georgia Moon, customised for Cleo obviously 🙂 but the style is called the Showgirl Bra – see this link for more info…

You are amazing, inspirational and motivational. Can’t thank you enough for the wonderful opportunities that I am now experiencing due to your professionalism and dedication to the pole industry.
You so deserve this award.

I am terribly scared of heights too and every time I go upside down I feel sick. My instructor was (and still is) great though. She would be my spotter when I was scared and always made sure I felt safe and secure while still pushing my limits a little bit at a time – starting with loosening my grip, then one hand off the pole, then the other hand etc. Because she was so supportive I am now progressing really well and enjoying myself.
I still get nervous however, which is good because it makes me concentrate and be careful, but I’m much more willing to try new things than I was a couple of months ago because of the safe, systematic way in which my teacher takes me through tricks.
Studio Veena also helped me enormously – via both the lessons and community interaction – as you can bounce ideas off people, gain inspiration from everyone, get excited for each other and support each other.
My husband has also noticed a huge change in my confidence since I started poling in April. As long as you go at your own pace and have the proper support you will achieve amazing things. It might seem insurmountable now, but believe me – slowly the fear becomes smaller and smaller as you fight it with more knowledge and greater skills, eventually it will loosen it’s stranglehold over you, becoming a vague memory or possibly even disappearing totally.
Good luck with your pole journey – I know my fear is being conquered every time I get on my pole. Will it disappear entirely? I’m not sure, but I’m having so much fun and making so many new friends with my new “love” that I don’t mind going a bit slower than some others if it means I keep spinning and inverting on my pole 🙂

I’m doing Kung Fu. Love the sparring and weapons work, and am really learning to get into the “zone” with my freestyle forms.
My hubby counts my bruises and tries to work out which ones are from pole and which ones are from Kung Fu. He used to say I was Kung Fu tough but now I’m pole tough too …. lol
My name – KungFuPuddyTat – actually comes from my big, black kitty kat that always insists on training with me 🙂 … the other two cats watch from a distance but Ed literally runs over and twines himself around my legs as soon as I start my Kung Fu training – very cute but pretty dangerous when I’m sparring or using the sword or staff.
I have this crazy goal is to do a pole routine at our end of year Xmas party that has a “Ninja Poler” feel. KrissyKiKi has an awesome picture that she created which totally inspired me to go for it. And then I saw Becca Butcher’s routine with a katana on YouTube. That was it – I’ve got to be a kick arse Ninja Poler now 😀

I started running again to help with my pole fitness. I noticed my upper body was getting a great workout on the pole but my legs looked terrible! Didn’t do the Couch to 5km app program but I think I’ve pretty much followed that system by the descriptions everyone has included. I started out slow with just a couple of minutes jogging and lots of walking (cuz I felt like I was dying) and have built it up over the last three months so that I am now comfortably running 6km in 30min. Went to pole class tonight and one of the girls commented on how toned my butt was in my new cheeky shorts – boy was I pleased 🙂

Someone mentioned a “cup” to me last month and I shuddered in horror. I just thought it sounded gross! Anyway a week later I was looking through SV with my new membership (yay love SV!) and saw this thread. After reading all your comments I decided to give the cup a go….I am now a total convert. No leaks, no odour and no mess. Thank you so much ladies! This small item is really making a significant change in my life.
