My fiancé cut out a section of ceiling and mounted a 4×6 between the existing studs, replaced the square of ceiling and then screwed in the mount. My less invasive idea was to paint 3 2×4’s to match the ceiling and screw those through the ceiling into the existing studs side by side then screw the mount into that- but he wanted to get all fancy :p

Lol! I have pics of Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Spike and David Bowie up in the pole room. I find them inspiring indeed!

I like to work on getting my pole room pretty and inspiring. Not necessarily fancy- money doesn’t always allow- but I like to get it clean and surround myself with my costumes, pictures, past choreography written down and printed out. Then I just spend time in there listening to music, getting the feel of the space and doing a few simple spins or just stretching even. Then boom! A song comes on! I get an idea- even if for just one spin for one part of the song- and it all works itself out. I also dance like a fool to songs that totally don’t work and make a complete joke out of myself 🙂 It’s cool. I do this for myself and no one is watching 🙂

Can one 5th an idea? If so, I do. X-poles aren’t very expensive if you consider the safety and convenience. Its hard to learn tricks properly if you are scared your pole is going to fall down, worse yet, if it does fall and you actually get hurt. Watch the forum here, people sell them fairly frequently.
