Another prone to injury and aging (ex)poler here 🙋ðŸ»â€â™€ï¸ Thank you for being so open with the struggle, we live so bombarded with picture perfect social media stuff that you may think you are the only one going through issues. I’ve been dealing with shoulder and ankle injuries for 2+ years. I had to stop poling in 2021 to rest and heal my left shoulder, then injured my ankle so dancing or pole fitness risking an “emergency landing†was no option. I tried to return pole in summer 2022 with some success but then I injured a muscle in my back/scapula so I had to stop again. Ankle is fine now but old knee and hip injuries are flaring up 🙄 So I do what I can to stay active and workaround my injuries but I’m accepting that, well, normal wear with age is happening so I will have to be mindful of my training. Pace myself. Don’t over do it. Listen to my body. Thankfully I’m learning to let go, acknowledge, accept, evolve. We’ll be fine. Love â¤ï¸

Welcome back!! Wishing you a speedy recovery 💜 Lower body strength & flexibility may be also an option to start with 😉

A pole strength program. Like, no tricks or anything, just strength and conditioning. Kind of pole fitness. Or maybe strength and mobility program.

This is awesome! I’m almost ready to go back on the pole after 1 year off and this is perfect to rebuild my skills back and consistently, plus getting the cute badges are additional motivation. Thanks Veena and PoleAdventures 😘

Thanks Veena! I think I will still watch from the sidelines 😉

I support this and I’m interested but I don’t know if I’m officially in… too much going on and I’ve learnt challenges are not good for my mental health 😬🙄 I tend to obsess. But I will be watching and maybe taking part 💜😘 Thanks Veena, you are the best.

Thak you for sharing Veena! You are gifted so you’ll be back to where you were in no time. I’m no poling yet but hope to be back sometime in 2022, hopefully in the next 2-3 months. May follow your example and post my progress too. Thank you for being so inspiring! 💖

Thanks and sorry to hear! Sending healing vibes your way too. I take note of the sitting modification ☺ï¸

This is great, I think I’m adding this to my current workout schedule. I may need to modify, for example do the twists sitting and perhaps skip the leg raises as they require balance. I’m still recovering from an ankle injury so no pole for me yet, but I’m modifying and working out safely to keep as much strength as possible while I recover. I’ll be back!!! Miss you all 😘

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Got it!!!

To achieve the splits (on the floor) or splitty moves on the pole? Sounds great anyway!! ðŸ‘ðŸ¼

MemberJune 5, 2021 at 10:06 pm in reply to: Beginner Exotic Pole Online Course or TutorialsI was subscribed for some time and it’s good to learn the exotic basics, the videos are in progressive order and they include tips and technique explanations, etc. The downside is that video and audio quality was not good for some “guest†instructors, but the main videos were fine. I believe they revamped the site recently so hopefully they fixed this. They didn’t update often either and there weren’t many videos, so when I did almost everything I cancelled my subscription. But I would recommend it for someone who wants to start Exotic, maybe least 2-3 month subscription. I wouldn’t go with the yearly subscription out of the gate.
123poling, OpenDance Academy and Cleosrocknpole have exotic tutorials too, but those are random, not a course. That’s why I recommend Exotic Academy.
Anyway, most of the transitions like pole plié, body waves, shoulder slides… and tricks like the wrist sit, Jamilla, handstands, etc. are basics of exotic as well, regardless if they are labeled like that or not!
The rule of gold of exotic is heels off the floor. Also, arms do most of the work, even if it looks like it’s legs. Exotic is my jam so I’ve done research and training… here is something I posted on IG 😉

It’s a self paced course, not just random tutorials.
