I believe we have all been there. When I got my first pole I thought that maybe I had bought a fake, or a different kind of pole than the ones on the videos, because I couldnt do anything with it! it was just a round piece of cold hard slippery metal on the middle of the study. Many times I told myself… "this was a big mistake…" and at the start i didnt like the bruises or the soreness one bit. I think the only reason I didnt gave up right away was because I am too stubborn and hate to admit defeat. Don't worry… it will get better 😉

I saw that trick yesterday after practice on a diferent video and almost got back to the pole to try it! i'll try today for sure, its beautiful!
@elektra: thats a cool idea…. 😉

Oh that sucks!! so sorry 🙁 but I love your atittude, looking it as an opportunity to practice diferent things 🙂 I have a one-handed invert to chopper here: https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/4e7ca30b-c51c-4e2a-8f34-03fc0ac37250 at about 0,25s if it helps. If you need any pointers let me know. other suggestions.. maybe embraces? elbow shoulder mounts, elbow ayshas (from the floor so you dont have to use your hand much to climb and invert), or maybe even who knows, you may come up with new tricks 😉

OK, I'm in… I need all the motivation I can get at this point.. just uploaded a video with where I stand atm… and will take a pic every friday with the progress.. this should be fun…. in a most unpleasent way 🙂

I'm pretty sure I wont be able to do it, but I'll try anyway. Lindo! Parabéns 🙂

Pink Puma caught my eye immediatly and went straight for the top fav. she has a very particular style and works with really cool tricks and combos. Also we dont see many tall skinny dancers. In my dreams I pole and move my legs exactly like her lol

@silverlady: girl.. you bring ruin to my life! those are to die for!!! I'm so getting one even if its for christmas!
I did my piercing right after i turned 18 (my parents didnt allow it before), it took about 8 months to fully heal… but it was worth it! sometimes when I wear too tight clothes it gets "upset" but its just a matter of kipping it clean and all its fine. To avoid complications I often remove it when I practice, when I know i'm going to have to use my belly against the pole… to avoid hurting myself, cratching the pole and also because those tiny holes on x-pole dont make me feel too confortable… maybe i'm just over cautious, but.. better safe than sorry. I love my piercing, too bad there's only one belly botton or I'd do more 😛

what I often do to save time is housecleaning work as a warmp up. after 30min to 1h of dusting, vacuum cleaning, mopping, carrying stuff up and down stairs, etc I do some mobility exercises and pre-stretches and Im good to pole. Flexibility training is usually done while whatching a movie after a good strength workout or a nice hot bath when I have time for it. its possible to find time for everything with a little creativity 😉

practice and polish the ones you know, try new combos, play a bit, experiment! have some fun with what you have accomplished, and of course, keep working on dancing, stamina, flexibility and strength, you cant have enough of that 😉
