Thank so much for your reply 🙂 I went to look for more information but my german sucks… 🙁 don't supose the courses are in english by any chance? 😉

I know.. everything seems a bit overcharged… i mean i dont mind to pay as long as i get my money's worth…  but sometimes is hard to tell…

I've tried the trial lessons… but its hopeless here… i love teaching, but i cant keep teaching friends for fun forever… and everyone else is either not interested because its "stripper class" or dont trust my skills or simply dont feel like they have to pay me anything because i have nothing on paper to show for myself… i cant even begin to describe how much portuguese love their paperwork and burocracy… anyway..

i've been doing more research, both on google and in here, and considering my geographical and background limitations i'm inclined towards the VerticalDance course.. does any one have it? is it worh it?

I wish i knew the answer… i tried the move last month and it totally ruined my inner thigh… for 2 weeks i couldn't even do a pole sit.. and it still hurts a little bit when i practice too long… i dont know what happened, i'm sure i did something wrong, but i'm not in a worry to try again any time soon.. Venna, if you're reading this… a lesson on that would be great 😉

I've been struggling with the same issues recently… I started poling a little over a year ago and this summer i was almost forced (oh bummer 😉 ) to buy new shirts and tops, because nothing fit on my arms and shoulders… thats when i realized how "bulky" i've become.. that freak me out a bit, my body haven't been trough so much changes since puberty! also never felt very feminine to begin with and now my super small boobs have more muscle then fat… not happy with that… it took me a while to adjust but overall its woth it. I mean, i absolutely love poling and want to become the best poler i can be, for that i need strengh so.. its a fair trade 😉 most of the polers i admire have muscle and are still very feminine so you dont need to sacrifice one thing for the other. Poling changes all your body, posture and even perception of beauty… embrace it 😉

I wish i had the secret for it… different things work on different people i supose. for me what did the tick was PRACTICE! the first couple of weeks on spinning were not pleasent at all.. to put it mildly.. i would get dizzy, sick, headhaches, almost fainted a couple of times… i have very low blood pressure.. so, for a moment there i thought spinning was not for me.. but i kept practicing, like Veena said, i'd push myself to do some spin work everytime, even if it was just 10 min… and over time, not to long, like it was any other pole trick my body just got used to it, and even a bit addicted lol,  no practice is complete without a little spinning 😀 I still get dizzy and frustrated sometimes, balance issues on some of the more advanced tricks and still havent quite figure out how to slow down or speed up at will…! but at least i no longer feel like i just came out of a rollercoster. Don't give up, dont let it get to you, you'll find out what works when least expected, it will just "click" like what happens with pole tricks 🙂 happy spinning!

sigh….. I had to pick myself off the floor with this one… Lonestardiva: your post brought me to tears… anyway Lexistarr, my bf is the same… supportive yes, but totally uninterested… At first he was not happy with the idea, i guess for months he was hoping I would get tired of it, now he knows that's not going to happen and he's ok with it.  However every millestone have been a struggle, from getting a new pole in the living room, telling  everyone what i was doing or when started uploading videos… he didnt like any of those, didnt say anything, just gave "the look"… but he accepted my decision. He helps me everytime i ask for, when trying a new trick or setting up the poles and he listens to my pole ramblings…he is always there for me so i know he loves me. That beeing said… I dance for myself and my dogs. he never asked me for a dance, he does not even look at me while i'm poling. It's funny, like runemist said, people often assume he would be the happiest guy, many of my friends thought he bought me the pole and we must be having a blast in the evenings… oh well, I know this is common, I wonder why many of us, who feel so passionatly about this sport/art end up with men who couldn't care less… hmm food for thought….

A friend of mine told me other day that indiference kills affection… well not sure if its the case, but it definately kills your spirit…

oh the dilema.. get both if you can. 🙂 I also started with a 50mm because it was the standart size and recently got a 45mm.. love both. My legs prefer the 50mm but my grip is much better on the 45mm… I'm always going back and forth between the two for diferent moves… I wonder when they'll come up with a 47,5mm pole… humm now that would be perfect! 😉

I GOT IT!!!! Thanks charley for the tips on your post. I'm so happy, it was one of those moves didn't even dream about…!

Last week while practicing ayshas wigh different grips, I slip with the elbow grip, and almost fall on my back but somehow managed to gather all my strengh in order not too (uffff) and before  dismount I thought I saw a glimpse of and iron X on the mirror (or to be correct, an extended aysha 😉 ) but when I tried again… no luck..  so I beleived I probably just imagined it… Until I read your post the other day and it all made sense, so I went back to the pole… and… I did it!!!! ok, so it still needs a lot of practice,  I can only hold it for about a second and its not a perfect 90º to the pole, but its a start! now I KNOW its possible and can start dreaming about a true iron x!! 😀

Yeah, poling with long hair can be tricky, expecially on spinny, but its so much fun!. I remeber wondering if that sort of thing could happen, but I figure I was just being paranoid… autch… guess I was lucky… need to be more careful. Glad you're okay and thanks for the heads up!
