I did infra-red hair removal on my legs, bikini line, and underarms a couple of years ago. Now I have just a little bit of soft hair that I shave every day because I'm a perfectionist like that 🙂

I have pretty hairy arms and my hair is dark – I never thought about removing this hair, though. I can't be bothered with another beauty routine 🙂

Ladybits – I don't want to do any kind of permanent hair removal because I like my hair ðŸ™‚ Waxing/sugar/epilators and such are not an option – I have a VERY sensitive skin there, and my hair grows really deep. I bleed when I pluck it out.
So it's shaving for me. My hair grows really fast so I do it almost every day, but I got used to it. If I get ingrown hairs I just free them with a pin (which clean with alcohol).

I prefer the landing stripe or triangle designs – I don't feel like myself when I'm completely bald https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

Aaaaand I have tummy hair. I still haven't figured the best way to handle that one. I've been trying shortening and bleaching it. This method gives a really pretty and natural result – completely bald tummy looks strange to me, but it requires too much maintenance. I'm thinking about switching to epilators or waxing.

You probably shouldn't clip them off as you might injure yourself or remove too much and cause the area to be tender.

If you just leave them, they sometimes peel which also hurts.

I think the best approach is to scrub the calluses in the shower with one of these stones that are used to remove hard skin from the feet http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c8/Pumice_Stone.jpg

I've written a post about it a while ago with some suggestions:

You'll have to try several things and see what works best for you…

@Pankak – What I discovered is that when you learn to "fall backward" from your hand stand/elbow stand correctly, it is much less scary. Basically what you do is you turn it into a forward roll.

@MelCat  Problem is – what boosts my mood is playing old songs that everyone hates in max volume and singing along loudly and horribly.

My mom used to do this when I was a child and I hated it, and now I do it to everyone else https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

In our studio, we work only with squared hips, and work on over splits even if we don't have a flat split yet.

Everything that requires balancing while up side down used to really scare me (handstands, ayesha, straight edge – you name it). I was always afraid to fall backward.

I think that if I had smaller boobs, I would also spend more time naked…

@CapFeb In what universe are you thick?

@JoleneBell Yes, watching myself dance is always hard for me too… It is especially hard when I compare myself to the other girls in the studio, who are all Russian goddesses with amazing beauty and perfect physique and generally look like the photoshop version of themselves, while I am a short, brown, hairy Mediterranean monkey. *sigh*…

Anyway – it does get better with time. Some videos I still can't watch, but I think it has more to do with my feelings about the specific dance/setting/event when they were taken than how I actually looked in them. But with time, I learned to look at some of my other videos with a "forgiving eye" and see the good in them, even if at the time they were taken all I could spot in them were flaws.

In the studio, I try to treat my dancing as a celebration of my body. I always wear cloths that make me feel good and that compliment my figure. I wear makeup before class because it helps me feel prettier, and I try not to criticize myself when I look in the mirror.

Don't be discouraged, I think it's a stage everyone have to go through when they start dancing…

All Veeners who are working on their oversplits – nothing to see here, you can go back to your practice now 😉

"But I would ask if you would feel comfortable doing it in front of your dad, brother, or Jesus?"

Um… Yup, I would feel comfortable doing it in front of my dad. In fact, I have done it in front of my dad. Twice. He said I had the sexiest style of all the girls in the show, and that he is very proud of me.

    Your move.
