I just managed to invert for the first time last night! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif It’s not the prettiest thing in the world, but all those crunches finally paid off. Love your video! Wish I could do fan kicks! Guess that’s the next item on the list of stuff to learn!

I too am on a diet. I didn’t gain the "Freshman 15," but instead I gained the "Sophomore 15!!! (plus a little extra, yikes!) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif Pole dancing has been a great motivator for losing weight since most of the moves require you to support your entire body weight! I want to get fit and build muscle so I can do some awesome pole moves! So far it’s worked out pretty well, and I’ve already lost 11 lbs. Would have been more if my boyfriend didn’t give me a huge box of chocolates for V-day! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif I think it definitely helps to have a motivator to get fit.

Guess I’m going to have to put away those chips, dangit https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
Thanks for the pole tip too, azriel! You were right about the screws not being tight enough, and now my pole is nice and stable! I’m afraid of getting my Xpole too tight anywhere, what with the horror stories I"ve heard about people’s poles getting stuck!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif -
Thank you sooooooo much for your advice and encouragement!!! I’ve been browsing through the forums here, and everyone is so helpful and encouraging! It’s such a great environment to foster a love of this sport!

I just tried what you suggested about rotating the inner thighs, and it definitely helped! I still can’t grip the pole enough to hold myself up, but maybe that’s just practice? Is it supposed to hurt like hell?
