Its a 3 dvd box set but may only want the advanced dvd as have been very disappointed by getting Beginner/Inter. dvds before only to find I already know all the moves (good and bad thing I guess) Well thanks anyway https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Heh, I’m the opposite, there’s always something to be learnt from basic/inter dvds I feel, even if it’s a way of explaining the move that I hadn’t considered before. I would like to start teaching at some point (probably a long way away, but still…) and any information I can get my hands on is really useful

Taylor, I feel the "must have" pole dancing dvd collection is Jamilla’s Art of Pole set. She’s amazing.

It sounds like you are trying a basic invert? From your description is sounds like you have the hand placement etc right. Is there any chance you could do a vid for us so we can see how you need to tweak it?

We are a looooooooong way from the Olympics. To even be considered as an Olympic sport we need a national/international governing body. We’d also need standardization as azriel said earlier in terms of moves, judging etc.

However, I think the diversity of pole is one of it’s most apppealing factors and standardization could completely change that to pole’s detriment. Think about gymnastics and how much that has changed over the years, floor routines used to involve beautiful dance work with spectacular tumbles, now it involves some odd arm waving while getting to the corner for your next tumble. So I personally don’t want pole to become an Olympic sport (sorry, dont hurt me, hehe) because the whole spirit of the dance could be lost.

On another forum it was mentioned that pole may suit something like the X Games a little more.

    Here’s a flatline

It’s the bracket arm which helps get the jade flatter, the idea is to reach up with your free arm and pull the leg on the pole straight. I’ve also seen people bring their free leg onto the pole too to make it a bit easier to get the other leg off. I’ve tried both ways and no way in hell is my leg coming off, hehe https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

I can’t find the grip myself but I’ve been told that a better way of getting into it is from the flatline scorpio rather than the hip hold, it creates a flatter Jade.
