I’ve never had much of a problem with Windows Movie Maker, but then again I don’t tend to do any drastic video editing
-
Is it a video straight off your computer? i.e. no editing?
-
Presumably if you managed to email them then they are now on your computer.
Get either a Photobucket account (vid should be less than 5 minutes) or a Google videos account (which allows longer vids) or a Youtube account if you are brave enough (I’m not!). Then follow the instructions for uploading the video (pm me if you need help with either Photobucket or Google videos, and I’m sure there’s a few people on here who will be able to advise on Youtube).
After the video has uploaded all you have to do is post the link here https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I have heard tell that Platinum Stages poles can be used on vaulted ceilings and that’s there’s a special attachment to screw it onto the vaulted ceiling. http://www.platinumstages.com

The carousel I’m referring to is a spin, while the Peter Pan is a variation on a pole sit (in my vocab anyhow)
I’ll try and grab pics
*Edit*
Peter Pan, not the best pic though

Meh, I really really want one. The only thing stopping me is the fact I have no money, no space to put it up (full height is about 9 feet I’m led to believe) and nowhere to store it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

I had a hell of a time finding joists in my room with both the stud finder and the knocking method. It turned out that our ceiling has sagged slightly away from the joists so there was a gap between them, which we found when Dad drilled into the ceiling to find them (he was going to drill in there anyhow, we were putting up a piece of wood onto the ceiling). Anyways with that found my Dad drilled the wood into the ceiling joists and now I can put my pole up on there and the weight will be spread between the two joists

I’d say keep her practicing on that climb and sitting on the pole, the climbing will build up her upper body strength (ready for when she does start to invert) and sitting on the pole will start to desensitise those thighs. There are different variations of sitting on the pole (Swan, Peter Pan, Drama Queen), there’s also the thigh hold which looks quite nice, and the basic plank or scissors or wrist sit when she’d like to lean back a bit. Stargazer is also a nice move for when she’s mastered them.
There’s plenty of spins to be doing as well;
Chair (or Seated lady I’ve also heard it called)
I think you described a closed front hook in your post (leg hook with legs together?) so try the open front hook (knees apart)
Back hook
Attitude spin (also known as the sunwheel)
Crossed leg fireman
Hip Dip (I think this is the one you meant by saying the leg stays on the floor and goes round the pole to meet the other one), this one can be made more advanced by taking both feet off the floor so it becomes more of a short spin, also try teaming the hip dip with a pirouette, it’s looks gorgeousThese can be made more advanced by doing one handed versions and also by spinning on your opposite side (or as I call it, my wrong side lol)
When her upper body can handle it then go onto spins like;
The cradle,
Side spin,
Carosel
Corkscrew
Reverse Grab
BoomerangThese can also be made one handed (except the cradle)
Do you have Jamilla’s Art of Pole dvds? Volume one and two would be absolutely perfect for moves to teach.
If you need any pics of vids of moves then give me a shout and I’ll be happy to point you in the direction of some https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Asia, if it was recently, I’d try to get your money back on the Carmen Electra pole and save up a little more for an X.
I’ve heard there’s been quite a few problems with the Electra pole including; it’s stuck to the ceiling with a sticky spot (so if that slips there is nothing to stop the pole falling down, the X-pole has a large dome with a rubber insert – I have never brought an X pole down and I can be pretty rough on my poles), the screw being attached to the pole (so if you spin a certain direction it unscrews the pole) and I know some more advanced polers that took only 30 seconds to break it.
Chalk this one up to experience, poles really need a lot of research into to find the safest ones

Hehe, I already have a vid that fits into that category, but it’s a bit naff https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif

Thank you so much for all your help!

Maybe try getting into the move a different way? That way you get a feel of the move, the knee on the pole really needs to be hooked properly.
Heres a couple of vids of different ways to get into this one;
From straight edge http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i20/loopylolacherrycola/th_Suzescombo.jpg
From marksman http://i68.photobucket.com/albums/i20/loopylolacherrycola/th_MVI_1269.jpg
From shoulder mount http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pNHr38pmZOc
You can also get into it from a basic invert or a cross knee release. Or if you are ok at handstands you could try and get the leg hook from a handstand on the floor to the side of the pole
Be careful, in particular getting out of brass monkey, I’ve nearly nose planted before now
