Are the blogs only for paying members?  I couldn't figure out how to use it….

I dance with Sminxie's School of Dance (in Passions).  I could book the room.  Might cost a fiver or so each….

That is if you girls want to do a jam in Cardiff.  It's up to you.  I'm pretty free next weekend (long weekend).

No problem.  There is one in London.  I also jsut checked out plane tickets to Prague… it would cost me about 200GBP without accomodations or getting to the airport.  🙁  Is there another nearby airport?

hahaha… I was in class yesterday and we were doing an elbow hold (right side up) with top hand and bottom pushing pole away and going into boomerang pose, etc.  I slid down the pole and went "holy crap that kills".  My instructor laughed.  And so did I.  I then said "I wonder why I thought it wouldn't… everything hurts at firts).  I remember my first climb OUCH….

Shoulder mount killed, and now I don't understand how it did.

The best one for pain is knee hold.  THAT IS SOOOO PAINFUL!  I did it once last week and it didn't hurt at all.  🙂  I can't believe it.  Becca Butcher told me at a workshop that it's a move that hurts and hurts until one day it just doesn't.

Can't wait for elbow grip to stop hurting!

Your chopper will come back.  If you're hurting your back its because you are falling out of it instead of using your abs and coming out with control (exhale as you come out as well!).  I find it's a lot safer to get into chopper and then slide down the pole in that position.  It hurts a LOT less.  Once you get more ab strength (which you do from doing air inverts… YEY!!! Congrats!!!) you can come out of it with control and hopefully without pain.  I still slide down the pole cause it's not worth the pain.

    🙂

    Happy birthday Pavi!

I think I did it in fore arm grip… not too sure.  I just did something that felt like it was sticking somewhat 🙂

    Let's dance around in victory!

    Hiya Pavla,

I'm in the UK.  There are loads of great schools.  My instructor is Sminxie (Sarah) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=faYyMH6fhvU

She's awesome and always complains that at comps they only have x-stages so she can't do a death lay….

But really there is a good school in Wales and England.  (Im in Wales).  There are some level 3 PDC instructors…. just go on their website and you can find their dance schools.

In Europe, I would love to go to Oona's dance school… I think I would just about die.  Also, you should check out x-pole website as they usually have people from US doing tours, etc.

GIRLS!!!  I DID IT!!!!!!  I went to my class tonight and told the instructor that I really wanted to try it and she said "well go on have a go!"  And I did… and I went UP the pole…

    I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!!

Can't wait to make a little video for you all.

I also got my floor butterfly today (after trying for months!)

Today is a good pole day for me!

Thanks so much girls.  My inverted crucifix is really good so I think I might give this a quick go 🙂  I will work on handstands as well.

Glad others are finding this topic useful!  😀

Veena, I'm going to pay for some lessons soon.  I think I want to progress faster than my teacher is teaching (because in a class you learn slower cause there are loads of yous…).

YEY!  Yeah… I never realized I shrivelled up while spinning (twirl).  Thanks SO MUCH!  I cannot wait to post an updated video and be like "now everyone drool!"  hahahaha!  Pheonix, I absolutely loved the angles and curves your body made and your arms were just a part of that 🙂

Someday I will dance pretty darn it!

Here's the video so you can see how much I struggle with this.  I think graceful is not a word that would ever describe me.
